I'm sure this is nothing new but when you call the AA RTW desk, do you request a specific currency for pricing? I called today and said I was starting ex-CAI.. the agent said the base fare for a DONE5 was $10k-something USD... but she said I could have it priced in a different currency, so I asked for EGP. She said it was $10k because I was in the US... but that doesn't sound right, does it?

and it says it's valid on the build page (with well over 34k miles of course), then lets me pick all the flights but won't let me go further due to the 34k "limit".

Same issue with this routing so it's not an ANC problem:
CAI-xMAD-xDOH-DPS-xHKG-PER-SYD-DFW-LAX-JFK-EZE-GRU-xDOH-HEL-DXB

Likewise with this routing so it's not about the end of the itin either:
CAI-xMAD-xDOH-DPS-xHKG-PER-SYD-DFW-LAX-JFK-EZE-GRU-DOH

And likewise with this routing so it's not about the transcon:
CAI-xMAD-xDOH-DPS-xHKG-PER-SYD-DFW-JFK-EZE-GRU-DOH
Constant issues with it. I have no idea what sorted it but I Def couldn't get another europe sector into it. I was trying for HEL too like you so see that they would fail.

I'm surprised your last one didn't work. Try removing the EZE - GRU leg if you can.

Are you still seeing AA fares ex-CAI on EF? From my searches today the AA fares seem to be gone again.

Thanks! Great tip on AA JFK-LAX

Another thought are you choosing Qantas as your preferred carrier on the first page?

I haven't seen AA ex CAI on EF even before the deval but apparently that hasn't stopped other people from booking with AA.

My impression is that most of the ex-CAI xonex tickets lately have been booked thru the tool and QF, especially since the AA fares went away. The reports about AA no longer ticketing ex-CAI were last year and while AA was still publishing xonex fares ex-CAI.

So I don't think you'll be successful getting the AA RTW desk to issue an xonex ex-CAI at the ex-CAI price; I think your best bet is the tool and/or QF.

AA still publishes CAI fares, but they are just ridiculously high. For example, DONE3 is $7306 with AA, $2629 with others.

Got a DONE3 fare issued by BA for 2629USD (+1115USD taxes) ex-CAI. They didn't want to hold it, so does anyone know what is 5% cancelation penalty calculated from- before or after taxes. Need to optimize the itinerary so might need to cancel and rebook. The ticket has 13 segments, including several A legs on QR in Middle East and QR DOH-JFK and CX on JFK-CAI among others.I was surprised BA went ahead and ticketed it - very different from Star where you need to email LH folks.

Well, they should be, but as I said a couple posts above I cant get AA xonex fares ex-CAI to come up on EF. Other OW airlines still have published xonex fares ex-CAI.

I was on the phone a few hours ago to AA RTW ticketing desk and asked about ex CAI and they said they are not presently issuing any tickets originating there …

Great thought, felt like it might work but no luck so far. Not even with this stripped down itin, stops into tool: CAI-MAD-DPS-PER-DFW-GRU-DOH-CAI (which puts in xDOH for MAD-DPS and xSYD/MEL for PER-DFW). 34k limit error is still there.

Sorry, that was a typo in my message. It should have said EZE,GRU. I even trued JFK-GRU-DOH in case it wasn't happy with the surface sector. Something else up, I can't replicate your exact itin either (though I may be putting different cities into the first page. Not sure what's up.

If anyone else is having success with the online booking took for an ex CAI xONEx then it would be great to hear from them.
