I got the 60k offer, instantly approved.

My wife only gets the 40k offer.

She had activity in 2011 (from a United Visa, now expired). I didn't.

Tried the link in 321 (after logging out, clearing cache, and logging in again). Still only 40k offer for her. Even transferred a continental mile.

Maybe tomorrow the continental mile will trigger it. I'll try on another browser at home.

I have 3 Chase cards including the old United card and got instantly approved - so did my wife.

Which credit report did you have frozen? Or did you freeze all three?
All 3 credit reports frozen. I unfroze Equifax.

Ya you can get approved but will they still give you the 50K points after first purchase? the fine print does say only available to first time members...

BTW: I have a normal Chase United Mileage card not their Saphire card... which I think is what THIS card is right? I'm still curious if i can apply and still get the 50K points. I should call and ask.

This should not be a problem. Many posts earlier in this thread (which has gotten quite long) have indicated so, including this post: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/17257854-post168.html

Important FT rule. (okay, unofficial rule ) NEVER call, NEVER ask.

Your best source of info is right in front of you, your fellow FTers.

Calling can only cause problems and, probably, get you incorrect info from the poor front line phone rep who knows nothing about the marketing dept.'s offers and rules.

NEVER call.@:-)

How do you freeze and temporarily unfreeze your credit reports?

Ah everyone is getting approved instantly except me. lol Also wish when I got my CO card last Jan I cared about miles. Got a really crappy bonus when I could have got a better 1. Oh well now I know since finding this website.

So I guess I should call since the auto line has no info. (or should I wait?) been 24 hours.

I had a freeze on credit reports from all 3 credit bureaus. You need to write them a letter requesting this. I had to pay $10 to each credit bureau for the freeze. I then received a 10 digit PIN number which I needed to use in order to unfreeze my report permanently or temporary. This is either done by phone or online. Easiest online and can be done on day you want unfrozen.

I chose to unfreeze Equifax for Chase. When I applied online, I did not receive instant approval so within an hour I called Chase Reconsideration line. When asked if CSR was able to pull my credit report, he said "no". I asked him to pull up Equifax which he did and then approved my Explorer Card.

So if I freeze my credit report accounts and I know Chase pulls Experian from where I live, if I un freeze Trans Union can I get them to pull that credit report instead, or will they tell me they can only do Experian or Equifax?

I disagree. It depends. In cases where everyone one is saying an expired link works and they are getting miles, then of course dont call and ask. In cases such as this card where people are getting mixed results, then it might be best to call. I called myself, explained I had a Chased United card earlier and that the terms are unclear. The terms say the offer is good for first time Explorer members, but the very next sentence states that previous Chase United card members are not eligible. While holding 3 Chase cards already, I did not want to waste an application, so I called. The rep told me I am definitely eligible, since they are even giving that card and the bonus to members who currently hold a different Chase United card.

Redelmo, this is not the Sapphire card, it's the United Explorer card.

Not sure. I usually unfreeze Experian and Equifax and never had a problem with Chase using the one i want. Before I applied for the Bank of America Alaska Airlines, I called CSR and she said all 3 credit reports will be pulled. However, I only unfroze one (Experian I think) and my application was not instantly approved online. I called and after talking to a supervisor, I was told they had problems retrieving my credit report. I told them to pull the one I unfroze.

Interesting, I might need to try this as Experian gets abused in AZ. I might try and freeze experian and call the reconsideration line to see if they will pull Equifax.

Update: Applied and approved. Made a couple of purchases. My statement closed and my 50,000 is in there.

I was a bit worried about eligibility as I had a United card before (it was the old Visa Signature card). The 50k was worth the pull for me, so I'm happy to report that it worked out. Thank you FT!
