Wow. This is big---offer being yanked. I wonder if it's some kind of glitch. I applied weeks ago and am still awaiting word (latest SW card took a few weeks to be approved). I may not get the card but I sure am glad that I applied while it was still active. If this latest is true, all the more reason to not back burner offers that smell good. Offers sometimes state that they may be discontinued at any time and it sounds like this is what happened.

The 30k freedom offer appears to be dead as well (and was active briefly yesterday, after having been dead for a while) so I wonder if there are some technical issues going on at Chase right now.

man...glad I applied when I did. Also FWIW, got an email from Chase welcoming me to the card, and in the email it states clearly that I will get 50k bonus miles after first use. It's reassuring to have it stated so clearly.

I'm not sure what all this hype is about. I just logged in UA and the offer changed to 60K no problem. I even clicked on the application and it looks fine too. I'm still trying to hold off for a while but I'm almost buying in to the hype. Could it be Chase fixed the glitch so only the truly targeted can apply?

My wife applied (well, I applied for her
) for the card with the 60K miles offer and was approved. The card came in the mail today. Looks like we just got in under the wire....

UPDATE:
I called Chase Lending to see if my application went through. They were unable to locate it so I explained I was concerned the offer for 60K miles expired. She did a lot of digging and came back and said the offer was still alive. She wouldn't tell me when it expires but said I should try back in a couple hours. She did say since it was 60K miles she thought it would be a short promo. I'm taking her advice and trying to get this before it's too late. Also, I called the number they gave earlier and they could only offer the regular 40K promo. She said the 60K is available online only.

Has anyone with a Onepass card applied for the new explorer card? Can you share your experiences?
I got the Onepass in July (before the 19th) and was just targeted for the 60k Explorer offer. Debating if I should go for it while I can. (And am also trying to figure out what logic I would use if I have to call Chase to negotiate approval.)

Not Dead
I have been worried about this promo being cancelled, and was going to get 2 CO Cards before the merger.
Now I got an email TODAY with the 60K offer from Mileage Plus account. I guess it's not dead, being targeted instead ?
Was gonna get the CO cards an wait on this one. Now I am afraid This one says apply by feb 29 so can I take the chance and wait till my next apporama in 3 months ?

Not Dead.
Just received email for my mum (I handle her MP Account). She got the 60,000 bonus offer 1 hr ago. She has no status but does have miles in her account. It had a deadline of Feb. 29 th.

I agree with you in general but on the other hand, the value of miles really depends upon the individuals needs. Some many never even fly out of the U.S. Why others like you & me probably love to jet set out of the U.S. I do always tell people to look at the ticket price of the flight you are redeeming for. If it's under $300-400, then you really should try not to use your miles unless absolutely strapped or you just have boat loads to blow.
Glad to hear everyone's stories and successes! Should be a fun year of bonuses!
