Right -- having a CSR tell you that you're eligible isn't the same as seeing the miles (though it might help).

Well, for what it's worth, I called to activate my card today and was also told (twice) that I am in for the 50k miles after 1st spending. He said it should take 6 to 8 weeks after the purchase for the miles to post, so I may still be waiting a bit to know for sure.

Oh, and I have both a UA and a CO card that I got last spring with the 50k bonuses.

OK, did a really stupid thing..I've been reading the thread, waiting as long as possible to apply as I have 2 other new Chase cards in the last 3 months. But my BA card posted it's annual fee, so I was hoping to allow them to close that in order to open the United card. Had the 60,000 mile offer - clicked in and entered my info to let them pre-fill the fields. It didn't work - so I closed it and clicked the offer again. Apparently at this point, it was no longer the 60,000 mile offer, because after I finalized my application and I was closing out my windows - I saw the 40,000 mile offer window.
I was in a hurry - and now I am paying for it. I tried to call and they said they couldn't tell what offer it was until I was approved. Any advice?

Update - called both the application status line and the reconsideration..both said they couldn't see what offer I applied for until it was approved. They recommended I wait 2 weeks! I'll call again tomorrow.

CO and UN card offers

Hey,

I got the same offer for the CO card (50K first use + 10K after spending).

Can I apply for this card and give my CO FF and on the same day apply for the UN card and give them a new UN FF and get both 50K?

thanks!

Purchased made on 1/19/12. How long should I be waiting for the 50k to post?

Please see a few posts above - CSRs and T&C are citing 6-8 weeks from first purchase to awarding of miles.

I know about the T and C but folks don't normally have to wait for 6-8 weeks....I can't remember which cards I applied for (so many of them) and I received the miles within days so hoping folks didn't have to wait over a month

It depends on your monthly closing date -- that's when the bonus miles are sent to your account, at least that was the case with all my Chase cards. If you can get them to set your payment due date earlier, that will shorten the time before your close date. I shortened my wait 12 days by doing that, but still it took 27 days.

Datapoint:

I opened a new United MP account for Mrs. akcae (she didn't have one yet, gasp!) and transferred 1000 UR points. Then I used the link provided and got the 60K miles offer. Applied her for the card, got "reviewing the application" message, which wasn't surprising, since she already had 4 other Chase cards. This was three days ago. This morning when I logged into her Chase online account, I noticed that she was approved, albeit with a minuscule ($1000) credit limit, so this probably isn't even a Signature card. I sent a SM asking for a portion of another card's line, which she never uses, to be moved to this card to bump it over $5000. Not sure if this can be done via SM, but worth a try.

Hopefully this doesn't affect the sign-up bonus. Will report when miles post.

It should have a label "United Mileageplus Explorer" under the account main page.

Can anyone offer me some advice here - made a stupid mistake today.

Have been really excited about applying for the Sapphire Preferred and this card both today under one pull. Stupid me, decided to first ask for a credit increase first so that I could have more bargaining power. Well, of course that counted as a hard pull, and automatically locked my Sapphire app as pending when I applied. I don't think I should have a problem getting that approved (Experian 748) and long term Chase customer with only 1 card currently. But I REALLY wanted this (United) card before the exp date. Should I still give it a chance, or does that just look like I'm too desperate for credit with three requests today? Don't want to risk my Sapphire app too.

Thank you in advance!

I have read almost all of the posts in this thread.

1) is this offer still open?
2) I just opened a MP account but have 0 miles in it. It appears you must have some miles to get the offer. What is the easiest way to get MP miles? Has anyone had success calling on the 40K offer and just requesting the 60K offer?

Thanks.

1. some say offer is open till end of January, some say they didn't see an expiration date. I applied on January 13th and it worked for me.
2. If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards, transfer some to your newly opened U.A Account. Buy something from the shopping mall, think you can do a transfer at points.com.

I don't recall reading anything about anyone calling on the 40k offer and just requesting the 60k offer.

For my info, start from reading the above link. This is the way I got my 60k .
