Another success data point
Applied about a week ago and got the pending message. Decided to call today and check up on things. Had a little chat with a personal analyst.
I already have four Chase cards, and this application would have had me exceeding my credit limit w/ relationship to income. The problem is that the cards I have, BA, Sappire Preferred, Continental, Priority Club, all have a MINIMUM $5000 credit limit, so she could only remove amounts off of the other cards DOWN to that amount. She also said that the minimum for the MP card was also $5K. After taking away some away from my BA and Continental limits, I was still $1000 short, but she threw that in the pot just to make the deal work.
Chase is bending over backwards to give us these cards. This is my 5th Chase card this year.

Has anyone actually gotten the 50K miles posted after 1st purchase. I am referring to those who had to do the log in/out browser trick. ?
Thanks

I just got my MP Explorer with a $1K credit limit.
I previously had Continental OP card with a $500 limit that I cancelled last year when the fee hit (used the $500 limit as one of the main reasons I was cancelling).
I have 2 other active Chase cards (and the wife has a couple others as well), and have cancelled a couple in the past year so I'd say they are surely trending downward in regards to credit limits.

You're missing the question. Visa Signiture is a type of card feature-set, not the card itself. Look on the front, my MP Explorer says Visa Signiture right on it.

Been reading through the last few pages of this thread and it appears you absolutely must have miles in your UA account in order to see the 50K/60K offer; is this a fair assumption?
I'm new to this whole miles/points game; I'm coming from an AMEX Business Costco card which was netting me about 3.2% (not bad I thought), but now that I plan on doing more flying in my life.. I could use all the miles/points that I can grab. Currently I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred and my trusty AMEX. I just signed up for a MileagePlus account and logged into united.com, but when I visit the links provided in this thread I only ever see the 40K bonus.
Assuming I do need miles in order to receive the offer, how many miles should I have in my united.com account and would anyone be willing to transfer miles to me (I can pay) to make this happen?

pcmike: If you have a Sapphire Preferred account, I would just transfer some Ultimate Rewards points over to your Mileage Plus account, and then you will have some miles in your MP account, and will hopefully be able to see the better sign-up bonus. If you do not already have a MP account, you will need to create one first and then initiate the xfer from Ultimate Rewards to Mileage Plus. Let us know how it goes.

Good looking out, like I said I'm so new to this I didn't even think of transferring any points out of the Sapphire account and into MP. I just received my 50,000 bonus points on my Sapphire LAST NIGHT.
Can anyone speculate as to how many points I should transfer into the MP account to reveal the 60K offer?

I still have my CO card and canceled my UA Visa in Fall 2010, I believe. I got the UA Explorer no problem. I'm waiting for it to close now, but I expect to get the 50K.
Correction: I checked my records and I canceled the UA Visa in June, 2011. I received the UA Explorer card in mid-December, so just over 6 months between the two.

I ended up applying a few days ago (with a current CO card, and UA canceled last year) - we'll see if I get it! I've been calling the status line but it is still "pending review." Any use in calling the reconsideration line right away to see if there's anything I can do to intercede with the process?

I applied for the Sapphire Preferred in December and was planning on waiting until about March before I apply for another Chase card (to be on the safe side, and to keep my hard inquiries down anyway). It is my first Chase card. I wanted to eventually get both the Freedom and the United card. The $300 / 30K Freedom offer is no longer available and this one says expiration January 31 - should I apply now so I don't miss out on the offer, or wait and hope something else good is out there come March?
