Sorry, my card is not a Visa Signature then, but I did confirm that it has the 50,000 on first use bonus.

I can confirm that transferring 1,000 UR points into my MP account triggered the 60K offer. I just applied and though I didn't get an instant approval (like I did for my Sapphire in November) I fully expect my application to be approved. I did also apply for the Citi ThankYou Premier card last night, so perhaps just too many inquiries in the past 24hrs.

I'm not a huge fan of Citi, so I'll probably just spend quickly and get the points and let them linger to see if I use them. If I don't use them before the end of the year cycle I'll just transfer them to an airline partner and call it a day. I do however plan on keeping my Sapphire.. I'm impressed so far.

Just transfer only 1,000. You can never put the cat back in the bag, so you want to keep the rest of your miles liquid in your Chase UR account as the transfer is instant, but one way.

I applied for Chase Sapphire on 12/2/11 and was going to wait until Feb to apply for this one. BUt if it ends 1/31/12 and I can figure out how to get the 60k on this, then I would go ahead and take a chance on it.

Might look at a quick transfer thru Points.com?

I helped 8-10 people sign up for this offer this week. I was helping my mom, everything went fine and then when I closed one window I saw a 40k offer showing in a background tab. I was not happy. I have screenshots showing the 60k offer, just hoping that Chase confirms it and I don't have to hassle with them.

You can book a refundable ticket on continental, buy miles using the miles multiplier for $14 for 500 or something like that and then transfer those over to UA. Don't forget to cancel the CO ticket.

Any miles I might have had on United had been lost several years ago. Not so with my Continental miles. Solution I transferred miles from Continental to United. Same for Mrs. Kayjay. The result; 60K mile, first use application showed up for both of us and card approved.

I ahd previously received Chase Saphire card in November and Mrs. Kayjay had received hers in December

Do the 50k United bonus points post within a few days of using the card, or do you have to wait until the end of the billing cycle?

Shortly after your statement hits, as with most/all Chase cards.

I transfered 100 POINTS 2 times into both my and my wife's account and that made us eligible for the 60k offer.

I had a existing UA , created a new UA for my wife transfered 100 immediately
Applied for her card , got the pending ,called next day .
was told call back in 2 days and they took 5 K from her freedom line and approved the UA 50 K .

That's 4 chase cards in 4 months. She is a 20 + year chase customer with 25 K
CL ON her freedom card

Chase probably has downgraded your card from Visa Signature to a plain Visa.

However it does not affect your sign up bonus other than the Visa benefits are less than the Visa Signature. I gather that is not something you would be concerned with.

This is a major difference between Chase and Barclay / BofA - the latter 2 banks would also reduces your sign up bonus accordingly if you are issued a "lesser" card.

You mean transferring CO miles also would trigger this offer?

I transferred 1 mile from CO OnePass, over to UA MP, and was able to pull up the 60K offer, instead of the 40K offer.

My MileagePlus home page even had banner ads with the 60K offer, after I transferred the one mile over.

I read somewhere that Barclays is going to start giving the full bonus, at least on the US Airways card, even if you only qualify for a platinum, instead of a world mastercard.

The 60k US Airways offer everyone is familiar with from Barclays does indeed give the full bonus out no matter which card you receive; however, their standard offers do not.
