Longtime lurker, first time poster, and new to doing these deals.

I signed up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card a month ago, then saw this deal, didn't realize it was a Chase card too. My application for this one is pending. Did I screw up? Will they approve me? Should I call and talk to someone? If so, what is the number?

Please go gentle on the noob.

Great, thanks for the confirmation on this! I think I'll go for it!

Cheers! ^

call call call

no need to wait.

they might just want to verify that u meant to apply for 2 cards within 30 days and if you did they might ask you a couple of questions. I know of atleast 3 instances where 2 cards were approved on the same day.

But always had to call for the second card.

I called and they said my second card wad denied... i had to call 3 times before someone who went over my credit report which didn't not show a recent pay off of one of my credit card. I told him i was looking at experian report and they had pulled the other report. he pulled experian and saw that i had paid off that one card. and he approved.

For chase personal cards a minimum 35 day waiting period is recommended.

Were these your only two applications with chase in the past 6 months?

Do you know your credit score? Could that have something to do with it.

You can call them and ask for the status of your card. Look up the Chase phone CSR here

I hope it works out for you.

Okay...just applied and got the dreaded notice.....not surprised as i last applied 2 months ago for another chase card

We have received your application. Our analysts are currently reviewing your application, and our goal is to notify you within 10 days of this application. Notifications are usually sent within this time, but in some circumstances it may take up to 30 days for processing.

Please do not resubmit your application

update- Just called reconsideration department (888-245-0625)....they had to pull another credit report Bureau up ...was approved but when i asked, they said the promo read 40k miles...and I said it was for 60k...they said if you were solicited and applied for the 60k you would received it....well, i didn't see the 60k when I logged on and I did the copy and paste for the 60k miles...should I be okay to claim the 60k miles?

Also, how do you do screen shot using an Imac computer

Wife and I logged on to our respective UA accounts and applied through the 60K bonus link that appeared. Wife approved instantly and I received the "reviewing in process" statement. Next day I checked my status at the 800-945-2006 number and my application had been approved. We both have status with UA and have both had UA cards in the distant pass. (Probably closed 3-4 years ago.) We both have at least two other current Chase cards including the CO One Pass Plus. Now will close our CO cards as they are coming up for paid renewal this month. Could not have been much easier.

Thanks for the recommendation to call right away. They actually had me in the system as denied, but the woman I spoke with looked at my account and approved me.

Apparently, I had too many applications over the past year, so I guess I better cool it for a while!

Thanks guys, I owe this forum yet again.

My wife hasn't applied for quite as many so she logged in, saw the 60K offer, applied and was instantly approved. I did the same last night but my application was given the pending review message. I wasted no time and just called the reconsideration number this morning. They said no decision had been made yet but would be happy to see if they can do it over the phone. They made me explain why I felt it necessary to have 5 separate credit lines open with Chase, which I happily did. Then I offered to close the continental account (which I was going to do next month anyways) and they approved me right away.

100K more miles in the bank... good stuff.

After receiving a couple random missed calls from (888) numbers in the past week, that google'd a potential scam line. I called the reconsideration line and they verified it was indeed Chase confirming my phone number to process my application.

A few minutes on the phone verifying information and I was approved for 16K, almost as much as the UA MP Select Visa I've had open since 2007.

I also had to do the cookie clear / link trick to see the 60K offer. I confirmed with the phone agent that I was getting that offer and he verified it. So, another confirmation that the link trick, even if not targeted, does work.

Do you recall when you got the CO? Thanks.

Linking the card to a reservation

I just received the new card today - guess now I need to cancel the old United card...

Question if anyone knows. I went and linked the new card to our UA an CO accounts and made it the primary card. One of the things I read said to "link the card to your reservation." We have award flights coming up in May - and looking at everything I could see, there wasn't a place to link a credit card.

Did I miss something, can it even be done, does it matter?

He probably meant you should link it to your FF number? Although you must have already done that when you applied for the card.
FWIW, CO/UA must be saving a flag in my account for having the CO OnePass Plus card, since I always automagically get boarding zone 1 on my boarding passes, even though I never use or "link" the card to the reservations.
