Thank you- got the 60,000 offer after I followed that trick- I had a United card previously- but cancelled in August- we'll see if I get the points.

Thanks for the heads-up. Applied on the new 60k link, got the pending notification message, waited about 30 minutes, called the reconsideration line, moved around a little credit from other Chase cards and was approved over the phone in about three minutes. Did the same for a United card for Mrs. KMA26 also.

Well, I applied for (and received) the Continental card about 5-6 weeks ago, and I just found out that I've been approved for this 50k offer...I am shocked (and needless to say, very happy
). Just thought I'd share in case anyone out there was in the same situation.

I already had the Chase CO (15 months) and BA (9 months) when I was instantly approved for the UA Explorer in December, and I applied last week for the PC card and was instantly approved. It just showed up on my account page online, but I haven't received it yet. So I'm up to 4 Chase cards now with no problems, but I must be near or at the limit.

I applied for the Continental OnePass Card (50k bonus points w/first purchase) in October. Since I have some United miles, I see the 60k offer. However, in the terms it clearly states United MileagePlus Explorer cardmembers will only receive one 50,000 bonus miles award if they apply for both the United Explorer Card and the Continental OnePass Plus Card after 7/19/2011. Im sure the 60k offer is showing up because the site cannot detect that I already have the Continenal card. I would try applying but I just did a big app-o-rama, so will probably hold off till next summer.
Will be curious to hear what peoples outcomes are who are in a similar situation.

Just got the Chase Sapphire Card for both of us about 7 weeks ago, and was still approved for this.
Thanks debearz73 also, your workaround mentioned again below got the offer of 60,000 to pop for my husband!!

As long as you are logged in and have not previously clicked on the 40K link, the 60K offer will pop up in a new window. If you click on the 40K link you need to log out and log back in. for the way to get the offer to pop for my husband."

I just called. He sees my application but no decision yet. I was going to wait to call in during a business day (didn't realize they are open on a Sunday) for my application submitted just yesterday. I'm kind of eager to find out because I had gotten the Chase Sapphire about 6 months ago and then I had also been approved for the Chase Ink about 6 weeks ago. However, I only have ONE chase personal card, so I'm really hoping to get this one approved (since I have upcoming travel plans on United, so this would be handy).
The gentleman couldn't provide me with a decision (nothing he could do), and that the application is just going through a system review (???). I should expect to get a decision in 10 days. It's going to be really interesting because I used to have a United Visa Select for a couple of years, so I also don't know if I'll get the bonus (but I think the value of the points is worth the credit pull - for me). I would assume so since the Explorer card is a new product, but I guess I shall see how it plays out or IF I'm even approved in the first place.
[QUOTE=wonderer;17773019]Thanks for the Phone number. My husband and I applied Fri Jan. 6, and got the wait for a decision message. After calling just now, I was told I was approved and because my husband had a Chase Freedom Card they moved some credit over to this card and he also was approved!! SWEET!!

I shouldn't play on FT late at night anymore. I have been watching this card, mainly for the boarding/baggage perk. I already have the old United card I planned to canx in a month or two before the annual fee comes due.
Both Mrs bj2757 and I have award flights booked for May (thanks to the old card). The other night after reading all this I found the link and pounced and received instant approval.
When I woke up and realized I had probably not gained anything but another credit pull. I received 30,000 miles on the last card and since this one says that makes me ineligible for more miles I probably won't even get the difference.
Since we aren't on the same reservation (separate award tickets) the priority boarding won't do me much good, and since we paid for the tickets with our old United cards I doubt the baggage waiver will apply.
And I had been really good for months.......

We'll see if the miles post once I've made my first spend (and pay it off) on my card. Will post the results.

How to earn 1 continental mile quickly?
Does anyone know of a fast way of earning 1 continental mile? We did the whole process for my DH since he had some Continental miles and he was instantly approved. But I don't have any...
