Just got the email saying I have been accepted (after review from an analyst, only been in the USA 16 months...) and confirming the 50k bonus on first use...

I keep reading mixed things about this, perhaps someone can clarify:

If I apply for this card with the intention of closing my CO card, does Chase allow moving of credit line over to this new card before closing the other? I know Citi doesn't allow that anymore. Just trying to make sure, as prefer not to have the big drop in my total credit..

Would that temporary elite status get me access to this offer?
As soon as .bomb show you are one, then you are fine.

It is a doubt that if this "offer" will come out at all...

You can try - but assume no.

CO Biz card have same rules?

Like many here I just got the CO biz card since it's disappearing. Does anyone know when the CO biz card becomes the UA biz card and if the 7/12 bonus exception applies to the biz card also?

Regarding Linking CO FF with UA FF accounts:

I have 2 CO FF accounts, 71k on one and 51k on the other.

If I link one of these now, what is going to happen if I still have the other unlinked with miles hanging there. Will they cancel that account and bar me from using those miles or transfering those to the previously linked CO/UA accounts? The miles were only obtained from card applications and not flights.

You may want to merge the 2 CO accounts into one. Just call CO and they should be able to do it.

That has been the case for me with CO and and Saphire. But one of them I pushed to get it fedexed and started putting lots of small charges on immediately to get the ball rolling.

I now see the 60K offer when I log in to united.com. The two accounts were linked ages ago, so I guess they aren't too quick transferring status. I'll wait until I'm near finished fulfilling my AA AmEx purchase requirements, but I will try this offer. I still have my CO CC, though. Should I cancel it? Will it matter?

Better to keep it open as a negotiating chip in case of denial.
I have only 33% porgess of silver elite so I guess this means that if I linked the accounts I would still never get that 60k offer to show up?
So from what the previous poster said to me having 2 onepass accounts is not abuse of the program?

Duplicate accounts can be created accidentally also. You may want to check CO's policy on that in One pass TC. Most airlines allow duplicate accounts to be merged as long as there is no obvious and/or widespread abuse. YMMV ..

Since my spend for the AA Amex card is almost done, I applied for the United Explorer card today and got instant approval. I'm only going for the 50K, not the 25K spend for 10K miles. I hope to get the 50K miles with no hassle, but I printed out the offer page just in case. So by the end of the year I should have enough for a trip to Asia in business class on two airlines, adding in what I've already accumulated. Love these card offers.

I know the cutoff for getting both bonuses from the CO and MP cards is 7/19/11.

However, the verbiage says "United MileagePlus Explorer cardmembers will only receive one 50,000 bonus miles award if they apply for both the United Explorer Card and the Continental OnePass Plus Card after 7/19/2011."

Well I got a 25k bonus from the Continental OnePass card in September/October.

So I didn't get a 50,000 bonus miles award. Does that mean if I get this MP card, I'd get the 50k bonus?
