Thank you in advance.
I don't think that it matters. I used the regular link on their website which was only 10-15k points and got the bump.

Instantly approved for 25K and used SM to get 75K miles!

Applied Sunday July 24 using the link posted for 25K miles.
http://www201.americanexpress.com/ge...op-Flyer/40141

As others noted after you click apply now it says 10K miles.

I was instantly approved, then called customer service later that day and asked them to have it expedited via UPS. They said it will arrive by 3PM Tuesday by UPS and to discard the standard mailed card as it will have a different number.

I also asked about what offer I have and they said the MR account was not yet created and to call on Monday.

I sent them a SM and got a reply today that 5985 is "only for solicited non-Cardmembers".

I sent another SM saying that I received a better offer in the mail (5985) and asked if they can apply to my new card and I was lucky this time.

EDIT: The correct code is 5985 (personal card) and NOT 5895 (business card).

Dear [MYNAME],

Yes, do not worry. I am willing to take care of your request!

I see that the bonus promotion linked to your account is 4851. It gives you the following incentives:
-- 25,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 within the first 3 months of Cardmembership.
-- No annual fee for the first year
The promised 25,000 bonus points under this linked bonus ID (4851) will automatically be issued to your account within 6-8 weeks after you meet the spend requirement of $1,000.00. Once you receive those 25,000 bonus points automatically, write back to us and I will issue the balance 50,000 bonus points to your account and match that offer.

I have made appropriate notation on your account of my promise to you.

I hope my response resolves your inquiry and leaves a smile on your face. I thank you for your valuable time to email us and giving me the opportunity to serve you today.
Sincerely,
[REP NAME]

applied for wife and received that "Application Received" message. Is there a # to call for the pending applications?

I also got the SM reply that 5895 is for biz card. Should I just delete that reply, and send another SM with the same offer code?

I'm so glad I found this forum.

Applied for the Platinum a month ago, was approved. A nice lady on the phone gave me the 100k points (which just showed up two days ago).

Just applied for this Gold card, was approved, will send a SM tomorrow requesting code 5894. What's interesting is that I originally applied through a 25k offer linked somewhere in this thread, but after logging in to speed up my application process, I was forwarded to a 10k rewards after spending $30k in the first year. If I get any push back from the SM I'll use that bait-and-switch to my advantage.

Very appreciative of all the feedback in these threads!

Stupid me. I put in the wrong code.. 5895 instead of 5985. Hope I have good luck with the right code.

SBG, please update on your results with 5985

I am waiting for the card to come in the mail and will be calling in as soon as it is received. Would love to know if 5985 is continuing to work.

thanks,

Anita

Is there a way to get the code added to my account without having card in hand first? Got approved last night.

This is the response I just rec'd per my post above:

I understand your concern regarding the bonus points issued on your account. Please allow me to assist you.

I tried to access your rewards account on your Premier Rewards Gold Card but I noticed that the Card is not enrolled into Membership Rewards.

I also see that you have an existing Rewards account which is linked to your Platinum Card account.

Therefore, I have gone ahead and linked your Premier Rewards Gold Card to your existing rewards account.

Please note that as of today, there is no promotional offer linked to your Premier Rewards Gold Card. It could be due to the fact that you recently took this Card on 07/26/11.

Please don't worry. Just allow a week to pass. After that we will be able to view the offer for 10,000 points that is linked to your account.

Only after we can view this offer on your Card, can we confirm whether we will be able to extend the offer id 5895 to your Card account.

I hope this is not too much of an inconvenience to you. I will wait for your email and hope to give you a positive answer then.

We welcome you to the American Express family.
I dont see why this would be a hassle once I receive my card. Based on other folks' experience, if this person says I'm not eligible for 5895 I'll simply call/message someone else.

Is it still 3 month $500 or 3 month $1000

5894 and 5895 are biz as far as I've seen
5984 personal card, expired end of June, I believe it was 75k after $500
5985 personal card, 75k after $1000 in 3 months, this is what I used and it works.

If you have another AMEX account (Costco card in my case), send an SM and tell them the account ending 5 digits and reference number you received in the instant approval email. That's what I did and worked for me.
