The other wierd thing is that I applied for a gold card but the confirmation email and MR tells me I got a platinum card. I used this link

Hi, I read this thread and got the idea like this: apply for gold premier rewards card (personal) with the 10k bonus after approval, call or email asking for the 'bump' to bonus code 5985 (5984?) for 75k and spending $1000 in 3 months. Is this correct? could someone point to me the link of the app. form on line?
And Can I apply am gold business 100k with 2k spend at the same time? Could I have the link?

Wife got approved today (applied a week before). This is her first AMEX card. She is authorized user on one of my card and has account online on that card. My questions are
1. Should I wait for her card to come and then call/message membership rewards CSR to bump offer to 75k? I don't know if the offer is expired already or not.
2. Should I send secure message from the online account she currently has (no MR account though).

Hey guys,
I applied under the 15k Amex Premier Rewards Gold last night. Got approved instantly, called customer service (couldn't do anything) but told me to call new accounts which I did this morning (couldn't do anything, told me to reapply using target offer link). So like most of the previous posters have said, I called the Amex MR line and told the lady I'd like to use the promo code 5894. She was extremely helpful, at first she said that that particular code for the 75k had expired but then she checked again and said that it had been extended to 12/31/11! She said the extra miles should post 6-8 weeks after hitting $500 spend in 3 months.
Sam007, perhaps try calling again? Some agents are a lot more willing to help than others.
Edit: Mshah, you could call now. If the agent is nice, they should be able to credit it and note it to your acct.

Applied and approved for AMEX Premier Rewards Gold and AMEX Platinum this past weekend. I called on July 31 to ask for expedited shipping. I received the cards today and called MR. First CS said no bumping allowed as you applied for that particular code. I waited one to 2 minutes and called MR again (800-297-3276) and spoke with a cheerful fellow. I asked if he could apply the codes 5748 for Amex Platinum and 5894 for PRG. He said 5894 won't work so I asked him to apply 5985 which he did. I told him I would give a call back when I meet the minimum spending of 1k for each card.
Hopefully he noted it and it didn't get lost in the system.
So, it seems like it still works. Don't be disappointed if CS says "no". Just thank him and call again and hopefully a cheerful CS would answer the phone next time.
I am trying to spend my 1k for Platinum now so I can see if he can apply the mileage asap.

Here is my success story:
1. Amex personal gold: Id 5985 applied via SM for 75k successfully.
2. Amex biz gold: Asked for Id 6608 by SM. Got denied by Bhanu. Called MR @ 1800-297-3276 and asked for same bonus id. Lady noted 6608 to the account. Said that the terms were to get the card by 16-Aug and spend 2k in 3 months. Points will be given in 6-8 weeks after spend. I intend to call them after my spend and request expedite points.

Sent a SM this morning. Had not yet received a response, so just called (800-297-3276) and asked for offer 5894 (75K after $500 spend) and within three minutes the agent had made the note in my account.
Said something to the effect of to call after receiving my original 25K and the other 50K would be deposited. Lots of talk of 6-8 weeks. Will call to get it expedited as soon as I spend and pay off $500.

I noticed someone in the thread mentioned they reapplied for the got and got the bonus. I had the Gold card in 2007, and cancelled in 2008. Would it make sense to reapply? Or should I wait?
