I flew 16ish hours to PVG (ex-SFO) last year for miles in Y, had a brief layover (~6 hours) and came right back. I can handle Y for a while!

There are some sub-$1000 whY fares YVR-MEL on Qantas for some Sat-Mon trips OR $1092 SEA-MEL. North of 17K EQM. This one has an hour layover in MEL: https://goo.gl/flights/Aku3w Just be sure to load up on aspirin first...

Any recommand? except qantas. if long haul, PE will be better. THank you for your help.

Qantas not easy to find cheap ticket now.
Just fly a intra-asia route, get MVP already, now need 19200 miles to MVP Gold.Condor is one option. But it is really too cold in Nov or Dec.

That's crazy, but I like it. Thanks! Hard to believe a 1 hour layover would be legal. There's no chance you clear customs both ways in that time! Maybe worth it and hope they put you up in a hotel when you misconnect?

Be sure to keep an eye on the premium fare thread. There have been some pretty decent AA deals floating around:
AA PE BOM/MAA-LAX $650-700
AA/CX PEK-LAX $1298

And if you just wanna knock that out in one go (although be careful of fare class R):
SQ PE SIN-EWR ~$1000

Thank you, but cannot see from PEK to LAX this year for 1298 any more.
BOM/MAA LAX should be dead.
SQ PE is not able to credit in AS.

SQ PE can still credit as P class (PE Standard I believe). It's more than the R fares, but still pretty reasonable given the fact it’s all you need in one r/t.
Example of MAA-LAX on SQ: https://goo.gl/flights/24m5u
If you take the link to the SQ website and pick out the PE standard price (instead of PE lite), it prices out to $1380 USD r/t. It’s gonna take a little searching, but we’ll find a way.

Found some CX PE trips PEK-SFO under $1K USD: https://goo.gl/flights/wtqsn
Books into E class and earns 110% EQM netting ~18K EQM

Thank you very much... New york is also good. Which will help me reach MVP Gold directly.
CNY8,300 EQM 18540 * 1.1=20394, together with MVP, that is totally 29664 miles credit to my account...The value is more than 3300 CNY...

Any chance there are dates that work the other direction? This would be pretty perfect for me if it can originate in the US or Canada.

Cheapest thing I can find on CX is $1308 out of SFO Dec 1-3. And, that would only get you ~15240 EQM. But, you could add a BLI-SEA-SFO or SEA-PDX-SFO on both ends to get up over 17K EQM.

ETA: I did find some PE on AA LAX-PEK Dec 1-3 pricing at $885 r/t on Matrix and $920 through GF, though. Books into P and credits ~12.5K EQM.

SFO-BOS-SFO works to get this done in one trip itself. Any other ideas?
Consider LAX-SJO 2751 miles each way. Saturday Dec 8 same day return $389.62 will give you 5502 EQM.
