And the staff at the club lounge were good and helpful, esp that european guy (I forgot his name unfortunately).
He is Greek and his name is Theodor (I call him Khun Teddy) And yes, he is a great addition to the lounge staff.

For those of you who are Wine Connoisseurs (and all others as well, of course) and in Bangkok on the 19th of November, 2009, the Beaujolais Nuveau event happening at the Plaza Athenee, A Royal Meridien, may be of some interest to you.

Best regards,
Plaza Athenee, BKK (Starwood)

I saw this post which states that the LM Plaza Athenee Bnagkok is offering a great rate via Air Asia which is a better rate than its website:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hotel...l-abf-tax.html

Not a bad rate ... nights/stays credit?

Plaza Athenee, BKK (Starwood) is this true?

Any matching offers on the Plaza Athenee website?

Thanks Kalboz Yes Theodor is a great lounge staff! Most friendly and professional, definitely willing to assist though he (understandably) got stuck one early evening when I asked him for a restaurant / bar suggestion ... so I ended up at the oh-so hip Bed Supper Club

Am wondering whether their lukewarm service standards have improved.
it's the only complaint i've had with this hotel but it is still a big one. when i feel like the staff dun care about me being there, i simply dun wanna be there.

Jae Jaez,

I've received nothing but excellent service in all my stays over the past year.

The employees working in the lounge are quite warm in my opinion. I found some of the front desk staff a bit distant and agree that the front door is left unattended too often. It isn't that I can't open a door by myself but rather that if the standard is to have a doorman then this should be staffed full time.

I don't know if this was mentioned before, but: for all of those that are opting for Royal Club Lounge access, we are back to serving Continental Breakfast on the 26th floor.

Best regards,
Plaza Athenee, BKK (Starwood)

Do Plats get breakfast on the 26th floor or can we opt for either the lounge breakfast or breakfast downstairs?
