Comments: Upgrade never really showed up on the app or anywhere. Sent them an in-app message on morning of arrival and they said they had already upgraded to this room - essentially a room on the top floor with a private onsen that looks out at the ocean. This is the top room below a suite. The two suites which had appeared on the site were no longer showing as bookable a day before, so I assume they did upgrade to the best room available. Service was good - typical cordial Japanese service and the onsen was excellent. Lounge, which was operating on the ground floor had poor food selection but the free Japanese breakfast was very good! Totally worth it on this rate.

Comments: I will say that the RC Bachelor Gulch exceeded my expectations with their hospitality and friendliness. Upon checking in, we were offered different options for an upgrade and the Staff was amazing throughout our entire stay. It's been one of those stays where you wish you never left but definitely want to come back soon!

Been a while since I have been in a regular FI room rather than a suite; however, I thought they usually also had an easy chair. In any case no upgrade. Front Desk Associate proactively asked about points or market item during check-in for welcome gift. Current breakfast offering during Covid is Grab n Go: cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, prepackaged hard boiled eggs, prepackaged danish, and bagged apples. It was fine for my needs. Slightly irked that they were offering Jimmy Dean Sandwiches for sale in the market but didn't give them out at breakfast (would have been a throwback to the old FI breakfast years ago). Property is near many restaurants, a Wegman's Grocery, and a Giant Eagle Grocery. There is also a TownePlace Suites across the parking lot and a SpringHill Suites a block or two away. Would stay again when in the area.
