Comments: Was told my room was already an upgrade from the Standard King Rooms even though you can book both for the same amount of base level point (36k in my case). They wouldn't even give me the Deluxe King room. When I inquired about a suite upgrade as they all showed available for booking, the answer was that they aren't available for complimentary upgrade. Wasn't going to argue for a 1 nighter but if I do a longer stay I would push it.

How can they argue it's an upgrade when you received exactly the same type of room as you booked?

I believe it is very common when you book non base room and FD agent assume that the hotel generously upgrade you to the said room
(Or claim give you special upgrade if it was a suite)

Comments:
My 2nd stay in this hotel and they pretty much upgrade me to the same suite on both occasions
The hotel was nice for a Four Points.
Cleanliness was very good although they have bad case of hard water marks in the bathroom which is very common with the water in the city.

I don't think I booked a non base room. On points this hotel offers 3 room types for the standard points amount which in my case was 36k - 1 king, 2 queen, or soaking tub king which I chose. So to me these 3 are all base rooms even if one room has "soaking tub" added to its title and they should have offered an upgrade above of that if available (which it was).

Comments: At 3:00pm check-in, was told our upgrade would not be available until 7:00pm, but was given a standard room for four hours - luggage was not delivered to that room, so was hard to get comfortable. Was offered no other compensation or even an apology. I was confirmed, in the suite using my points and certificates, and lost the value of that for 1/6th of the hours in the day, for a room that goes for $700 per night. Other than that, great stay.

Comments: Upgrade appeared three days before arrival. For only two of us these villas are not really a great upgrade- the sunset part I guess is the bonus, but the actual part (ground floor) which is part of the room may be smaller than the OWV and pool is def much smaller. We had a St Regis Suite for a day room on departure which would be the best upgrade over the 2 Bed Overwater Villa— unless traveling with more than two.
