Comments: Aviator package: runway view, binoculars, 2x drinks + appetizer, 2x Delta Museum tix.
SNA upgrade to Executive Suite about 4 days out.
Upon arrival, no binoculars available, credited $20 on room rate
Headed to the 5th floor room only to find out that it was on the side of the building. Runway view....as in can see the runway off the corner of the room. Back to the front desk, same agent that denied my the binoculars. She explained that Executive suites were on the end of the building, but as booked the Aviator package, the face on runway rooms were much more appealing. In keeping with the SNA, she managed to get a 10th floor suite: 3 room suite with butler entrance to the kitchen, dining room table, living room, 2x bathrooms (.5 on entry way and full+ bath/shower in master suite. Double wide balcony off dining/living room area plus separate balcony on master bed.

I have had this go both ways. Sometimes it is the hotel fobbing me off. But sometimes it’s just their policy and I actually receive a very nice upgrade on the day of my stay. Guess which hotels I return to? 😉

My most recent experience with this (December 2021) was that I called once and chatted once. Both times I got a canned response saying it is in the notes. When I got to the hotel and was checking in, they said you booked a (whatever the standard King room was). Then I said that I asked for an upgrade, I am with family, AND this is a one night stay. He said oh, of course we will upgrade you since it is only a one night stay and you are a titanium. Nothing was apparently "in the notes," and they key apparently was to ask and it be a short stay. This is the same hotel that told me they couldn't open their lounge because they need social distancing and it is an elite heavy hotel, making such impossible.

Comments: Wanted to try this hotel since it opened, decided to do date night along with some Christmas shopping in Savannah. Hotel lobby is by far one of the coolest I've ever seen. The room was also great, with a huge window looking out over the Savannah River. We also hit up Savannah tequila company and the electric moon rooftop bar that night. The tequila company definitely wins. The cocktails were amazing and nachos pretty good too. As far as elite benefits tho.. not so much. Other than SNA being approved, there were none. I didnt get recognition of status or welcome gift. However, they did waive the amenities fee and still gave me the $33 food voucher that the fee includes, since my room was delayed for about an hour past check in time, so I called it a wash.
