Comments:
Stay here few times last year.
Staff turnover seems on the high side as the people I know from previous stays are gone and replaced with the new faces.

No upgrade even though all room/suite category was shown as available.

Club lounge offering is as good as before, unfortunately the staff service level was not as good as before.
The staff busy chatting about their daily life and pay less attention to the guests.

Usually I stay at their Spa Terrace room which is quite acceptable although it start showing its age. Their standard room is quite dated. Definitely needs some refurbishment.

Quite disappointing stay and maybe I will try different hotel next time.

Comments: A pretty sweet upgrade, no doubt aided by traveling during the low season; I'm paying £275/night for a room currently listed at £1000/night. When I attached the SNAs I only ticked the box for the highest option, and the upgrade cleared at 2:10pm GMT.

Edit: See update.

I'm not sure it counts until you've actually checked into the room.

Comments: First real upgrade at a Ritz-Carlton, normally choose St. Regis or Park Hyatt. Just wondering if this is common practice or an anomaly?

Really? I got the email saying I was upgraded, and the new room shows in my reservation.

It would really stink if they could rescind a cleared SNA upgrade.

Some people have reported that happening at some properties, though not specifically the one you will be staying at. Hopefully it doesn't happen to you and your upgrade stays intact and you receive the upgraded room type. Please let us know what room you actually receive when you check in.

It happened to me twice last year, once at StR NYC and once at StR Bangkok. Others have reported same.

Odds are you'll be fine, but why jinx yourself?

Two for two so far in 2020.

Property: Le Meridien Hangzhou
Date(s): 01/02 - 1/06
Room booked: whatever was lowest offered, forgot
Room received: some junior suite that's oddly shaped like a triangle.
Elite Level: Titanium
Award stay: No
Rate Type: Cash
LNF stay: No
SNAs redeemed: No
Comments: Great hotel at a boring location. Literally nothing around you. If you like peace and quiet this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay away. I'm only there because the conference was there.

Property: Westin Qingdao

Room booked: whatever was lowest offered
Room received: Junior Suite.
Elite Level: Titanium
Award stay: No

Comments: Two subway lines and a mega mall across the street, with some fancy restaurants in walking distance.

Comments: Surprised to be able to score on the Presidential Suite; was expecting a junior suite or something, but I guess on New Year's Day it's kind of off-peak season? VERY happy with the stay (wife impressed as well).

He's probably safe on a cleared mid-January SNA. That's a nice upgrade...I'd be displeased if it got yanked back between now and the stay.
