One need not stay at Cosmo to enjoy a visit to Secret Pizza.

If you can find it!

Can anyone confirm that the Cosmo waives resort fees for Marriott Rewards Platinum elite status?

No need to taste the pizza when the pictures show mediocrity. Inebriation numbs your senses, hence anything warm, oily, and salty will taste good. Even "secret" pizza.

This seems to be a mixed bag. Worked with a friend (plat) who visited there and when we asked via twitter, they said "plat waives the resort fee".

Another friend this week visited and they waived it for him without asking.

Also it is on restaurant row so you have tons of eating options right out the front door of the hotel.

The location is great if you don't mind walking a few blocks.
The hotel might be older, however it has the same stuff as most other Residence Inn do. The Residence Inn South.... furnished the exact same way.... although, it was a bit cleaner. The lobby of hughes was not bad though. Location is good.

Residence Inn South does have the shuttle to the airport.

Yup, either one... both are basically on the strip. Chateau is quieter and doesn't have restaurant/bar or casino etc. Cosmo has all of that so depends what you're looking for.

Marriot las Vegas vs. Renaissance

I have a Cat 5 e-certificate to use. I want to go Friday. Just me. Both of these are Cat 5. I will have a car rental as I know both are off the strip. I'm only there one night (36 hours) but have a busy itinerary planned up and down the strip. I'm Platinum Elite.

Do either have resort fees I need to worry about? Will both offer me breakfast. Would one be more willing to give me a late checkout?

Thanks. Any advice would be great.

The Ren's exec lounge is closed on the weekends. You'll get cont'l brekkie or 750 points. No resort fee. I think free parking. If you stay, ask for a Wynn side room. Better view.

The Marriott does not have a lounge, but as Plat (Golds too) you get free full buffet breakfast in the restaurant or full breakfast item off the menu. The Marriott was a Marriott Suites before, so all rooms are suites. No resort fee. Free parking. The Vegas Marriott staff is some of the nicest in the entire Marriott family. If you stay, ask for Wynn side room. Better view.

You don't really need a rental car even though both are off the strip. You can either take the monorail (situated in between both properties) or catch the "Deuce" bus that runs up/down the strip on a continual basis. I think it's a $5-6/flat fee for all day. But up to you of course. Just be aware that the strip can be pretty busy trafficwise, so if you're driving to a variety of properties (especially on a Fri or Sat night) you can spend a lot of time in bumper to bumper traffic.

Cheers.

I agree with Sharon regarding her advice. Both hotels are nice, parking is really easy at the Renaissance. Nice staff at the Renaissance as well. Definitely ask for a Wynn view if you stay at the Renaissance, there is a big difference in views.

I also like the Springhill Suites just north of the Renaissance on Paradise Road. Have a great trip to Las Vegas!

At Ren ask for the room with a telescope. As Plat you might get it on a one night stay

At Marriott ask for I think 1818 (it is a new model room, unless they've started to remodel others).

Thanks, although you didn't advise the same hotel. hmmmmmmm. Hard decision. Wish the Marriott Grand was a cat 5, then I might have gone without a car rental. With all the construction around there, they should offer it at a cat 5. I've stayed at the Cosmo my last two visits; but I need to use this certificate. Last two years I mistakenly let it expire.

I was originally going to stay down by the airport residence inn. They would give me a shuttle to Mandalay and I do know the traffic nightmare on the strip, yet how convenient all the garages are free parking. I also took note of the temperature. yikes. I'm a Floridian. Vegas is going to be freezing next weekend. In the end I got a Budget rental for $40 total for my 1 1/2 days. Saturday I'll need to have the car for warmth in between my busy schedule as my flight home isn't until 11 pm so even if they allow me a 2 pm checkout I'll need to keep my overnight bag somewhere and won't want to head all the way back north. My last show will be at the MGM. Between arrival on Friday morning and my flight home sat night, I'm seeing 5 shows AND doing the shark reef as well as the Secret Garden and of course getting my slots on.

So i have all my show tix (living social and groupons and some freebies); I will pick up my comp shark reef and secret garden; have my car rental. Just need to bite the bullet and make the hotel reservation. oh what to do.
