+1 for the Cosmo. Although the place can be crowded with revelers starting late in the week, a business traveler can base effectively from the Cosmo. Its location is easier to access/depart by car than some other Strip hotels, and free self-parking is ample (except perhaps on those Saturday nights when there are concerts).

One issue with cosmopolitan is that the standard rates require a deposit. This was a test booking for late march. One thing I like about Marriott is decent rates that aren't non refundable or requires a deposited. I'm not to impressed with any hotel that requires a deposit.

Can someone clue me in on where to find great rates for the Cosmo?
Whenever I check the Marriott site I typically see $100+/night rate differences between Cosmo and other Marriott properties. Other sites like Travelocity seem to have the same rates as Marriott site...

Excellent CS
I recently stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau Las Vegas with one award room for a guest and a paid room for myself for three nights. Points credit for the paid room was posted 2 days after check-out but the paid room nights did not show up. So after 5 days I submitted an inquiry to MR customer service as to why I got the points but not the room nights. Within two hours the nights were posted and the CS agent let me know this. A few hours later she also sent an explanation that the hotel mistakenly reported both rooms as award rooms. I very much appreciated the prompt response and correction as well as the follow-up explanation (which was a nice touch).

1 night - Vegas - info on Marriott's Grand Chateau & JW Marriott LV Resort?
I will be in Vegas this weekend (half-marathon on Sunday... anyone else?) and while I will be joining a group on Saturday, I am arriving via car tomorrow.
Still debating where to stay but I think I have it narrowed down to a couple of choices and can't find anything recent on here (unless my tired brain isn't working things right?) on a couple of specific hotels. Specifically treatment of PP and quality of sleep/work I will be able to accomplish.
There are pointsaver deals for Marriott's Grand Chateau (down to 25k) and JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa (down to 20k).
I am in Vegas tons and have stayed at just about every Courtyard, Springhill, Marriott, Renaissance, and Fairfield that exists in and around the city (and the Cosmo). Would love some feedback on the two mentioned above though!

Have stayed at the Chateau several times. Nice rooms with extra space. Nothing else to talk about except location to the strip. Pool and bar on roof top nothing to write home about. No restaurants, but mall next door at Planet Hollywood has plenty.
Never stayed at Marriott Resort, but did look it up a few times. Just not convienent if you want to be near the strip. Very isolated.
My real preference is the Cosmo. Great property. Treat Plats very nice.
All three of the above are big steps up from the local courtyards or the Marriott suites. Renn is not a bad property, but location not convienent.

If you want strip convenience, Grand Chateau. If you want a place to rest your head, JW. The JW is great, but for just one night you're not going to experience all that makes it great. Then again, if you don't care about living it up in Vegas because you're running 13 miles in a couple of days, then it's probably better to stay there if for no other reason than to save 5K points.

I opted for the JW simply for the bed. I had a lot of work to get done and needed a good night sleep.
Great choice. I had a one bedroom suite with two balconies that faced a very far away Strip.
Decent restaurants and an older, quieter casino (definitely more locals).
I could see how people wanting a "Vegas" experience wouldn't stay here, but I could definitely see coming back!

2 nights in VEGAS for work...which Marriott?
Hello everyone,
So I am traveling to Vegas for Tuesday July 16th for a meeting July 17th and then flying out the 18th.
I have stayed in the Cosmopolitan 6 times already, so id like to try something different lol. I want to be able to have some fun before and after the meeting so close to the strip would be nice.
Any suggestions on a Marriott hotel for those 2 nights and why? So far I have the Grand Chateau as the front runner...

My answer would have to be 'it depends'.
Since you want something on/close to the strip, your options are really the Cosmo or the Chateau. The other Marriotts are over by the convention center. While they are close to the convention monorail stop, it shops around 1 or 2am during the week so if you are out late, you'd be stuck taking a cab.
If you wanted to try something different, the Chateau is nice. Good location also just a small block off the strip across from City Center/Cosmo. Its a quieter place if you'd like that after being with the crowds and noisy casinos.
