Which ones are Cat 1-4? If you provide the list, you'll probably get a response.

But - if you 'need an extra night' for some type of promo, using a Cat 1-4 won't get you night credit. If you need an extra night because you want to continue gambling, then a different story.

Cheers.

The SHS by the convention center just became a CAT4. Never stayed there but its proximity to the monorail makes it better than the Fairfield Inn Las Vegas Airport, havent stayed there either. Most Marriotts in LAS are CAT5 and above.

Just stayed at the FI Airport due to a super early AM flight, as well as hitting a LNf that brought the rate to $45.

It isn't really at the airport, but not on the strip either.

Courteous staff, pleasant check in, Plat status recognized. Older property, but updated and managed well.

Definitely still a Fairfield, but slightly above average. You could do far worse with your cert.

From Chase Marriott card: "You're Invited to an Exclusive Las Vegas Getaway"

Hi,

Just received another offer from Chase Marriott. Apparently only 50 packages available.

Here's the link.

Briefly,

- $750
- Nov 16 - 18, 2012
- 2 nights at the Cosmopolitan
- evening food / wine event
- art show
- dinner with celebrity chef David Myers
- farewell brunch

Hopefully, this will appeal to someone.

Interesting. Have you received these offers before? I noticed the bottom references "Premier Experience Event", but I have never received such marketing materials from Marriott or Chase before (and I am a Marriott Premier Visa cardholder).

Not a bad deal if the food & wine event is worthwhile. Room rates are $250/night during the weekend, so for an additional $250 you get to enjoy the great cooking of David Meyers. If they are pouring really nice wines paired with the meal, it could be worth the price.

Las Vegas - Renaissance or Cosmopolitan

Your thoughts on the following choices (both within $1/night).

I am MR Plat and at REN rate is for "Mid floor King" and at Cosmo 2 Queen. I really don't care for king or 2 queen but I am thinking that room preference would kick in for room guarantee and not get an upgrade at Cosmo to perhaps suite (if they are available).

Never stayed at any and this is work trip with car rental so I don't care in terms of surrounding area but amenities to enjoy before and after work at the hotel itself. Thoughts on which one and why? Where do I stand better chance of a nice upgrade or other plat perk?

Cosmo hands down!! The bed type guarantee will not prevent your upgrade! You can ask at the front desk while checking in.

I stayed at the Ren in the summer during a conference (i stay at the Cosmo usually), to do some work in the afternoons. Bad idea!! Ended up being on the strip most of the time and a $10 cab ride away from my hotel..

Cosmo, hands down. Even just one breakfast at the wicked spoon would sway me... not to mention the typical upgrades there for Plats.

Anyway - stayed at both. The Cosmo is very nice.

Depends what you want. I've been upgraded at both. No lounge at the Cosmo. if you want to be on the hustle of the strip, then its the Cosmo. If you want something more quiet, the Ren's a great property.

Well barely a lounge - isn't it just a place for juice/coffee?

If the OP picks the Ren, ask to be put on the Wynn side. Better view (golf course, strip).

Cheers.
