so I took my Metabank BHN Visa Gc $300 to my local WMNM, I had activated and registered the card and set a new pin about 8 hours earlier. I got the “debit not allowed” message. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

BHN cards almost never work, and if they do, its only for $99 and less

True at the MC or CSC. At the cashier, these cards work just fine for loading the full amount ;)

Maybe it's BIN specific then? I had 3 BHN card that would not work anywhere (Cashier, MC/CSC) for anything over $99. But they were the "problematic" BIN (that were posted somewhere around here a few months ago).

If you could confirm a specific BHN card lot number that did not work at the cashier, that DP would be most helpful for everyone ;)
It wasn't that it didn't work. It was that you couldn't swipe to load Discover for anything OVER $99. BIN 4358 There's several posts around June - Sept of 2023 where these didn't work for over $99, even at Cashier. These are the "crap" Yellow VGC by BHN. After going through 3 of these, I have stuck to only the Secure Spend cards which have worked fine, once I "season" them with one purchase (it may now work without having to do that, but I had 2 cards get locked because of that and had to call in and have the lock released). |
anybody else getting errors on Everywheres today? I'm well under load limits, register is throwing code 12, the website errors out immediately but the phone line says I have a balance and also charges/refunds for my load amount, as if I hit a discover load limit. I'm only at 12/30, 3/7. Never hit $$ limits. The website errors give me hope that it's a network glitch. I loaded a GE on the 29th BAU

yeah this was just a single swipe. tried it at a different store and it went through. never seen code 12. Last time things got nuked by WM it was like code 56, 57. Doesn't seem like anybody is snagging their rejection receipts

For those using Discover deposit products, i received a letter last week with the following changes noted for the debit card:
- The daily ATM withdrawal limit for each account is the lesser of $510 or your available balance. |

Check the MO at WM thread. Looks like BHN is back with their newest throttling antic again

I did it at the register located at self checkout. I had already purchased a MO at customer services so didn't want to double up.
If they're hesitant as this cashier was, I found that saying "I think it's 70 action code" usually works. |
Failed to load 3 DE at WMSC. 3rd swipe ended up as Card Read Error

i do think that 2x200 for 400 is less alarming for the representative and safer for longevity's sake |
