Yes. It's been $99/swipe in the past. Waiting for the DP to see if the $200 at a time work and then more than $480.

Same, curious to hear of more DPs. Although I'd actually prefer to do these at $200 at FD/DG (via Serve) if that works vs. WM.

When loading Discover with multiple swipes, how do the mechanics work? Do I tell the CSR that i want to do multiple swipes?

If there is extra stuff that the CSR has to do, are there some instructions that I should learn in case they don't know how?

For ONE, jonny said that they tell the CSR up front that they want to load with two swipes, one for $x and one for $y. Is that what y'all would do for Discover?

works the same for Discover.

Although I had a lady that maybe never did multi swipes and she thought I meant I wanted to load back to back and did two transactions.
So maybe saying $xxx and split payments of $xxx, etc. I try not to do multiple swipes though because I haven’t been loading anywhere long enough to gauge who is friendly and who may think it’s suspicious

Was able to use vanilla 2 weeks ago to load discover.

Load discover this week: 1st swipe secure spend $499 went thru, 2nd swipe vanilla $499 declined. Tried 3 different vanilla, all decline.

they will ask you how much you want to load. you tell them the FULL amount
then you confirm full amount on screen
THEN you tell them you want to do "partial payment for 200". i typically show the backs of 2 cards at this time so she understands i will be swiping twice
then you swipe when they tell you

i typically will NEVER risk having multiple declines. if one GC declines, i immediately swipe or chip a real debit that will 100% succeed. why risk burning a store with 3 straight declines back to back. makes you stand out like a sore thumb. think about how you look

Two, $500 Vanilla loads yesterday. 2 swipes. 2 successes
Do these DP's really tell us anything?.

Are those Vanillas that declined now bricked or were you able to liquidate them elsewhere?

Yes, but without BINs, Bank/Servicer, and other data (2x500 on 1 card, or 1x500 on P1, then P2) it's less valuable.

did you drain the card at a $500 swipe? I’ve been scared to load full $500 from dps of lock up if trying to load $500 of $500 card

Lesson learned: if you're getting failed swipes at the money center on VGCs that you know should work then try loading them via a cashier at non-MC terminal. I had four valid VGCs that had a 100% failure rate during three different MC visits, i.e. they went 0 for 12. Finally went to a normal checkout line with a familiar cashier working that knew how to do Discover loads (many don't have a clue) and all four cards swiped perfectly.

Some cards are blocked at MC, but work at regular check outs. For example the Meta $99 limit is only at the MC.
Regular checkout can be a pain so I do not even try anymore. A lot of WM near me are now mostly self-checkout so there is always a long line at the manned checkout. Could spend 20min in line only for the cashier to say "go to MC"

Might be very basic, but should it matter Chip or Contactless? I'd been away from MS for a while but want to return.
Appreciate your feedback. TIA.

The card must be contactless to be able to load, but I always insert the chip
