Tried adding $380 using a Pathward Incomm prepaid GC. Failed.

did you set the PIN or register it? This from staples? I haven't tried these yet, just getting details

onenation1994a Jun 28, 2024 1:04 pm

I set pin, bought from another WM.
I bought the card this morning - any idea if I need to wait 24 hours? I used it in store to purchase gum and it worked

I usually wait over 24 but if you bought gum and it worked it won't hurt to try.

So this is wierd. I went to do an action 70 load, as per usual, with a CSR that I have worked with for years. Today, it wanted me to input the amount I was loading as opposed to her inputting it. Did that and the next screen showed what I was loading and a fee of $3.74 IIRC. I asked her why I am being charged for a action 70 load and she said it is new. I loaded without a fee on Saturday and she said she thinks it is new as of today.
This was at a register. cancelled the load.

I went to the Customer Service desk as I had a return and asked if I could do an action 70 load and was told money services are down.

Anyone load DD today and have a fee charged?

So you know how there’s a 4 swipe limit and the discover card counts as one? I messed up the PIN on one of the gebits, and instead of asking me to try again it asked me to swipe again.
I had to cancel the transaction cause the failed swipe counted as one swipe. I was short 99$ and it rejected all cards.

My experience from doing WM CS transactions (MOs, ONE, Bill Pay, Discover etc) almost daily since the early 2010's is failed swipes do not count as a swipe.

Thanks to those that replied BAU. i am going to chalk it up to some problem with their money services and will try tomorrow

Sounds like operator error. I've had them do that when they think it's a different type of load / purchase.

Load rules - 4 individual loads per rolling 24 hours
Is a "load" to be considered ANY swipe or just when you would use a GC to add money? In other words, does swiping the Discover card count as one of the loads?
Thanks

A "load" is a completed transaction and not a swipe. So if you did a $600 load, and used 3x$200 VGCs then it is considered as 1 "load". Yes swiping the Discover card counts as 1 card that can be processed so the most you can swipe to load is 3 additional cards.
