have we confirmed that its $10k/mo limit instead of $20k?

why not full $500?

I tried it once, and it failed two months ago, but I will give it another try soon.

Just about to get my Discover Cashback Debit Card. Quick question that I didn't find an answer to when reading this thread - maybe someone can help before I go experimenting at WMT.

I'd like to dump six $200 cards per store, in two transactions. First transaction ideally would be at normal cashier, and do a 3x $200 load to Discover. Then I'd go over to the money center and do a 3 x $200 MO.

Problem with this is I understand some 'normal' cashiers won't do this/don't know how/just refer you to the MC.

Once I'm at the MC, will I hit a velocity limit imposed by BHN if I try to liquidate six $200 cards across two transactions (a $600 discover load) and a separate $600 MO? Asking because I've found all my grocery stores to have a two card BHN limit for the various $200s....

Thanks!

Any advantage in loading a $500 GC at a cashier instead of MC?

none, and I've found this attracts more attention.

Yeah I’ve literally had a cashier call over three different people for a single gift card because she didn’t think I could purchase one with a credit card and wouldn’t let me try without calling a crowd over

Some CSR's work at both the cash registers as well as the money center. If I see a familiar competent face from the MC that happens to be currently working at a register I'll choose to do my load with them, the fewer times I show my face at the MC the better.

oops sorry clearly I meant Discover One.

so I took my Metabank BHN Visa Gc $300 to my local WMNM, I had activated and registered the card and set a new pin about 8 hours earlier. I got the “debit not allowed” message. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Debit card loads were always location dependent -- worked in some states or regions, but not others. Folks sharing their experiences could make them useful DP's by specifying the region.

There is one thing I always do before loading anything at a cashier...
I ask them if they are able to load a debit card such as Bluebird or One. If they say no, I move on.
If they say they are not certain, I tell them it's a 70 action code. Blank stare......move on.

Otherwise, we proceed to load, almost always without issue. I only do $200 single swipe loads, but on occasion load more than one debit card (depending on how busy the cashier's line is.)

This is in fly-over country.

Anyone get a call from Discover at 800-347-0350? If so, care to share what info they were looking for.

Why... if the familiar face is from the MC what's the difference?
