Sorry if I wasn't clear - I meant unloading the Discover card with an MO purchase. The Discover card apparently earns 1% cashback up to $30/month. That's from Discover, nothing to do with a grocery store cashback program.

loaded 3 X 498 on two disover card, I almost think 500 will work but dont want to take a chance with card lock up. I can live with this pain of draining 2 bucks.
4 X 498 should work as well, just not pushing the limit right now. |

Just out of curiosity, are both Discover accounts in your own name and linked to the same non-Discover external checking account? I've been wondering if I could open a second one.

Does anyone ever unload their card by buying MOs at a grocery store? Would be nice if that counted towards the 1% cashback up to $30/month and also maybe looked more favorably on (using the card for purchases) than billpay (maybe?)
Curious if anyone has theories on that, I don't want to risk my account for an extra $30 a month by any means but it would be a pretty minimal time investment to do that a few times a month during regular grocery store shopping . All the grocery stores around me are strictly no VGC for MO so I wouldn't be foregoing an opportunity to liquidate VGCs. |

I can hit a lot harder than that, in my area even I saw one of the post office selling the VGCs.
I do wish this thing dies completely to not even have a chance to mess with the fire! |

Discover in P1 P2 name, linked to the same ext account but they are also in P1, P2 name respectively. I dont think one person can open 2 discover accounts? correct me if I am mistaken.

yeah just noticed my post office has BHN/Pathward $500 variables. Anyone know if USPS codes as office for CIC when buying inside? I imagine probably need the CIP for 3% shipping
So you will be the first DP as far as I know. The first question I would have is whether the USPS will even allow you to buy their VGCs with a CC. The next question is whether the USPS codes as on office (I highly doubt it :( ) but please be the DP and let us know the answer the two above questions :) DPs are always appreciated. |
Put the DP in the Doc, but good news is that Incomm/Pathward Vanilla Visa worked for me to load Discover at WM with a 450 swipe. I was getting nervous with all the negative DP associated with BIN 4097 58 but it worked for me!

So you're leaving $50 on each card? Then liquidating the rest elsewhere?

409758 fail
First time trying to load. I bought 409758 Pathward then about about 30m later 498 load failed with random pin. I bought some $8 icecream which did go through. I went back to a different WM and tried 490 load which failed again. Did I mess up anywhere or is it just YMMV? I think I might try Kroger instead after reading that thread (east coast).

loaded 998 on Each of the two discover cards.

loaded another 998 on Each of the two discover cards.
Is this back to normal? I guess the VGC got tired of the phone calls, replacement cards and relaxed the fraud filter? I am not sure if I could do 500s as before. |
