New to Serve

I have been out of the MS game since paying off student loans. But just when I thought I was out - a recent auto loan through Toyota Financial Service - pulled me back in

I am looking to go on an AOR soon, and was hoping I could get confirmation that AMX cards listed in the WIKI, will count as purchases for serve loads

I am not concerned about the sign up bonus / initial spend, but want to confirm for regular spend (1k per month) will count as purchases

Also, if anyone has experience using serve to pay Toyota Financial Services specifically, feel free to DM me.

I would be willing to use referral code in exchange for your insights

thank you for your help !

I used Serve bill pay and they mailed a check to Company XYZ. Company XZY mailed that check back to me. Since the check is payable to Company XYZ, can I cash the check at a local bank?

If XYZ company endorsed the check over to you, and you have a really good relationship with your bank, they should let you deposit the check and wait until it clears before releasing the funds to you.

OTOH, if your bank is the typical institution, they will not allow you to deposit a third party check. In this case, you will need to get Serve to reissue you a check in your name for the funds.

How soon after you bought the visa did you try to use it? Walgreens has a 2 hour window.

Walmart has cards that have a waiting period. As well as 7-11. There are quite a few places that have waiting periods.

How much time for which ones? 7-11 visas? They take somewhere between 2-4 hours. I haven't tested that as I usually buy in the morning then cashout that evening.

I know Walmart Visa green dots are 1 hour exactly. I buy them almost every day.

DP:

FDs around us suddenly become cash only. There are also complaints posted on Reddit yesterday regarding FD requiring verification of ID.

Are business as usual in your region? If so, I guess we need to venture further.

There is a bit of both of this in my area. The cash only FDs I've encountered are in high fraud type areas and have been this way for years now. Some of the FDs I visit monthly have recently started asking for ID and to see the card, but it's not consistent and seems cashier dependent. 75% of the FDs on my route are BAU though.

Does FD have a charge for loading your Serve card?

If so, how much is it and how much can you load at a FD?

creampiggy Feb 14, 2021 8:32 am

No there is no fees for my Serve cards. But it may depend on the kind of Serve cards you have. You may find more information in the thread.
