Can I do bill pay in Serve to an "Overnight Payment Mailing Address" which is a lockbox instead to a "Standard Payment Mailing Address" which is a P.O. Box? My goal is to get the payment there in time.

You can but there’s no point as there no way to tell how it will be delivered. Many “check” payments become electronic (e.g. Amex, Chase), and other issuers don’t have any add biller errors at all (e.g. CapitalOne)

Does DEBIT NOT APPROVED always associated with reaching monthly load limit? Am no where close to $5000 calendar month limit. Can it be cashier error?

Is it safe to pay my new Amex Platinum ?

I’ve had a lot of Serve cards over the Years. The only one that has survived is an old VIP Serve card. I don’t hit it too hard. Mostly load with $200 prepaid cards from Office Depot, at WM. Occasional Money Pass ATM withdrawals. Also, larger payment to my Hilton Surpass Amex.once a month. Same routine for years.

I’m not using my Hilton card much any more. Mostly using my Amex Platinum. I feel any change can rock the delicate balance. Is it risky to add a new Amex Card , to be paid with the Serve funds?

You have to think like an Amex Rat.

Serve cards are used mostly by unbanked, lower socioeconomic individuals who probably don't reach the median national income level. While I would not imagine that this group of people would be carrying either card, it is more plausible to carry a $95 a year card than a $550 a year one. If you have been adding only several thousand dollars a year to the Surpass card, I doubt that Amex would find this particularly troubling, especially if this is your only Amex card.

However, a plat card is for a completely different clientele. And this group doesn't pay their Amex bill via Serve, in general. So if a rat sees a $5000/month charge on a new plat card being paid via Serve, whiskers start to twitch. And a twitchy whiskered rat is the last person you want perusing your account.

In summary, feel free to get the Plat card. If you are going to use Serve to pay it off, just realize that it may elevate some whiskers which may lead to unhappy outcomes..

I got this email

A new Serve® is coming in the next few weeks and we wanted to give you a sneak peek.

We have been hard at work to make using your Serve Account easier than ever, both online and through the Serve Mobile App.1 Things will look a little different, but these updates will not impact how you log into your Account or use your Card.

What You Can Expect
• A brand-new website that not only looks cool but makes it easier to manage your money. We're also updating the navigation to make it quicker to access your Account.
• An updated mobile app to match the look and feel of the new website. It will help make managing your money on the go even easier.
• A new Serve Card design with a fresh look. Your current Serve Card will continue to work until it expires, but you will be able to see the new Card design on the refreshed site and app.
We're excited for you to meet the new Serve!

Thanks,
The American Express® Serve Team
Am very concerned this is the same makeover that gimped the Bluebird website for bill pay (cannot add new billers, even manually) and I'm now furiously manually entering payees into the old Serve website while its still up. Of all the issuers I deal with, only Capital One did not require manual entry.

Oh I’m pretty sure it’ll be the same update although they’ll likely break a few more features before it goes live.

Since they update the new serve, I'm unable to log in. Anyone's having the same issue? What should I do?

I suggest wait until Monday.

It is a holiday today, and there are probably few customers using their Serve card for purchases, and fewer Amex support staff available to help them. ;)

I have 5 serve cards (2 active, 3 inactive). If I cancel my two actives, should I be able to activate two of my inactives and then apply for two next cards?

Cannot seem to find a way to schedule recurring credit/debit loads online with the new web site. Am I blind?

Tried to open Serve today, but it said "Unfortunately, we cannot approve you for a Serve"

I had BB back around 2016 then received email asking me to close it like so many other people. Is above message due to that BB. Damn after 5 year, still no luck.

Amex has the memory of an elephant.

In general, if you were axed in 2016 for MSing, then you will remain on the naughty list for anything Amex (BB, Serve).

There are exceptions to the above. I was decapitated in 2016 but happened to luck into a new BB 2 years ago. Interestingly, although I was approved for an Amex Visa BB earlier this year, I am still denied a Serve card and cannot get a second Amex BB card
And I have not done any MSing on either card.

The long and the short. I would keep applying on a quarterly basis, but realize that once you are in, the rats are going to have you on a short leash and be watching your every deposit and withdrawal... which means that your BB account will be practically useless for any substantial MSing (unless you opt to go full throttle and damn the shutdown). ;)

I don't want to attack anyone personally, so I'm not going to mention anyone by handle. I do want to point out one the posters who posts often on many MS threads writes as if he or she possesses a lot more knowledge and expertise than he or she does. There are people who are "heavy hitters," most of whom don't post here anymore, and there are people who dabble in MS. Both are worthy pursuits, but it's important for people who may be new to this to evaluate the credibility and expertise of any poster. Just because a poster thinks something doesn't mean a poster knows something.
