Used it many times. Make sure your not going above the manual billpay caps.
Did you send yours within the past two days? |
More issues loading at WM for me...I am cross posting in the BB thread as well.
Went to WM check out line. After being told the limit at checkout line was $100, I loaded $100 to Serve from a $1k SM VGC in one attempt. Went to MC to attempt to load $1k on a BB using two $500 USB VGCs. First swipe went through fine. Second swipe got "Debit not approved" and transaction was canceled. Tried to do the transaction again, but I reversed the cards. Same result. Went to a second WM. Tried to load the remaining $900 to Serve from the SM VGC at a regular register. First time I tried the swipe, the transaction auto canceled. Second time it went through fine. Tried to the load $1k to BB at the register from a SM VGC. Transaction failed twice. Went to a local grocery store and liquidated a $1k SM VGC via MO in one swipe. I'm wondering if maybe WM has capped all loads now to somehow prevent $1k loads |
I'm providing an update on my issues loading to Serve/BB. Also wondering if others are experiencing the same issues.
TLDR: I've tried numerous different types of load combinations, amounts, and cards (Metas, USB, SS). My success rate on loads is about 50%. First load is usually successful. Any subsequent load at the same register is almost a guaranteed failure. A week ago I went into WM and did my typical $1k load at a regular register using a SM card. The next day, I went in to do the same, and the transaction was declined twice. Over the next few days, attempted $1k loads were continuously declined. On Thursday, I had two $500 USB VGCs. I went to CS thinking it was just a new issue w/ metas. Attempted two $1k loads with a split payment. Both were declined. The next day, I went back and decided I'd try to load each one separately. First load worked. Second load was declined. I double checked the balance on the second USB card, and it had the full amount. Over the weekend, I experimented with various loads and combinations of cards at multiple WMs. Because of the success of the $500 swipe and the multiple denials of $1k loads, I kept the loads to a maximum of $500. The loads were attempted at regular registers, CS, and MC. They included Metas (only at regular registers), USB VGCs, and SS VGCs. The combinations included: 2 $500 loads on the same serve/bb card using the same VGC. $500 loads to different Serve/BB cards using the same VGC. And $500 loads to different Serve/BB cards using different VGCs. For every single attempt except for one attempting back to back loads to the same Serve/BB or loading different Serve/BBs from the same VGC, the first $500 load has been successful, and the second attempt has failed. The only successful second attempt I had using these combinations was when the second load was for $50 because the CSR typed in the wrong amount and I accidentally hit yes when confirming it. I thought I had a solution to my issues last night when I successfully did $500 loads to separate Serve/BB cards using separate VGCs. I tried it again today though, and it was back to failing on the second attempt. The weird thing is that the cards do not seem to be affected at different stores. I can load $500 at one store and then go to the next closest WM and load another $500 to the same card. I just can't do multiple loads or swipes at the same store. The VGCs also do not seem to be the issue. I say this because the issue has been consistent across multiple types of VGCs. The VGCs also work BAU at my regular MO liquidation spots. Anybody else experiencing these types of issues? |
The reason the GC work fine for MOs is because those don't involve Serve. It's possible WM instituted a Serve cap.
But I've always thought that max loads were a function of volume at that store. E.g. At a slow FD, you can only do $500 (possibly per day but certainly per 4+ hrs). At a fast FD, you can do $500 back to back. Historically, Serve permitted numerous back to back loads at WM but I wonder if that cap has fallen since MS died a few weeks/months ago. That would mean, ironically, fewer MSers have made it harder on the rest of us! |

My problems started late last month. First I thought I must have over loaded my cards. When I went to the car to double check I was at around 1500-3500 per card, so I thought it was the GC's. Last Saturday May, 15th I tried to load my serve card for $1480, $1000 with my 2 bank debit cards and both loads failed. I only loaded the 1k online this month. Something's up.

You'll need to contact them. They might have locked your card for fraud or other reasons.
cuthroat should check his email(s) to see if there is the closure notification. It sometimes also goes into spam mail. Finally, there are many DPs where no email was received (or so claimed). I am uncertain whether any phone calls would make any difference in finding out the status of your account but I would hold off putting any human eyes on your account. My suggestion is to go to WM with $20 cash and see if you can load your card(s). If you cannot, that is not a good thing :( If you can, then you are not shut down. Then the glitch is elsewhere. |

Having a handful of issues with my AmEx green serve. It seems to keep "canceling" or "deleting" my Transfer Out requests to my attached bank. I have $1000 in the account, I go through the transfer process to the connected bank, the account goes to zero I click around to review the transactions, it looks like its all good. Today, I had an extra card in teh wallet passing a Family Dollar and I cleared it at FD, no problem. Got the load confirmation email. While confirming that load and checking the account, I see the previous 1k transaction just simply doesn't show up and the balance is back to 1500. Then I swing by an ATM and try to take out 500 just to see what's up. At a US Bank i get "a hardware or timeout transaction occurred. please try again" WITHOUT A RECEIPT EVER PRINTING and the screen going away before I could take a pic. -- however -- the account shows -500 and a withdrawal failure fee of .75 on the serve for a "new" balance of 999.25. If the account is about to get nuked, so be it - what concerns me is the $500 cash withdrawal at the that seemingly shows as having actually occurred when no cash was dispensed...
Going to call the bank's ATM and Serve support shortly, but curious if this sounds familiar to anyone and if they can share what sort of uphill battle in untangling this mess I'm facing... |

I can’t weigh in on the failed atm but I can’t ACH out from one of my green serve accounts. Same thing looks like it worked then the next day or day after the money is back and the withdrawal disappears. I found bill pay works so I’ve been using that. Other serve accounts are fine. No idea what’s going on but since bill pay works I’m not going to reach out to support. |
