Hi. I have a Serve that I haven't used in a few years. Got email that it will be closed unless I generate activity. I'm wondering if it's still useful for occasional MS - let's say 2k towards SUB, or is it likely to be shutdown after such activity?

Same here, haven't use for years and got the close if no activity email. Can this still be used to load cash at walmart/cvs free? I figure I can give this to my kid and add cash as needed. (Any other free reloadable recommendation that for this purpose? I don't need reload with debit card/credit card/gift card, reload with cash is fine)
Quick check at amex serve website seems now there are three types of serve, not sure what type is mine (old from many years ago). I think I want the free reload version so I can add cash without fee, right? Thanks. |

So others have adopted the policy of leaving something like $1 in the account which becomes the monthly fee that Amex takes. I have not heard bad things happening to that group of users. However, I have never been able to sign up for a Serve card, so let that be a warning on anything I say ;) |
I have the original Serve (blue), when they first came out. I keep it for emergencies. Have $1.00 fee come out monthly. Haven't received a notice for not using it.

More and more of those Serve cardholders are banned. This is why Serve has not been very active. It is mostly dead to most people.

I've been using Serve regularly for the past 4 months. No issues for me.
Shut downs are common and from the DPs, now quite random in time unlike before where there were large waves of deactivations at specific time points.. |
Just use common sense and do not push too hard. Then come handy in some special situations.

My wife and I don’t use our Serve and Bluebird much at all, mostly to push through an occasional credit card payment, but the other day I was reminded that Serve can cash money at a MoneyPass ATM as well as can be used for a standard ACH bank transfer and can be added to Apple Pay, while on the other hand can’t be used to send someone money by way of iMessage or add money in Apple Cash. Also, Bluebird can’t be added to Apple Pay. So I was wondering what’s going on with these quirks.

Is there still a daily load limit of $500 for Serve at Family Dollar? Does it even still work? How about Dollar General?
Also, I have a Bank Of America Reward Card I got for purchasing continuing medical education. It has my name on it and says debit. Can I use this to purchase money order if it says I can't use it for ATM withdrawals or cash back at registers? |

It seems to be an error when I try to add the cc account to the Serve Bill Pay. It doesn't like the zip code I'm entering (I'm copying it directly from my cc statement):
Sorry, it looks like the account number or the zip code you entered is incorrect (you may need to enter a 5 or 9 digit zip code number). Please try again. |

Did you ever figure out the problem? I can't add any credit cards to my Serve or Bluebird accounts. I keep getting this error but the zipcode matches my Serve card account and I know the credit card zipcode matches.
