I just received my 1st green Serve card last week (Thusday). I loaded it with $200 from a local WM yesterday (Sunday). Through the Serve website, I've added my CapitalOne CC as a bill payee. When I try today (Monday) to send the money from Serve to my CapitalOne CC, I get an error to call Customer Service. Is this something to be worried about, or BAU since this is my first payment?
Update: Nevermind. Serve put a hold on my account b/c I changed my email address w/them recently. CSR unflagged me and my bill payment was able to process successfully. I never use Serve or BB to pay any AmEx CCs. |
It was a small transaction (<$500) since I was testing my brand new green Serve card. My total MS is going to be <$2k/month. We'll see how it goes. If they shut me down, I'll go back to MO through a dedicated bank account...

Are there any DP (I didn't see any, but my searching skills aren't the best) with Am3x Serve, shutdowns and tying to SSN?
My understanding is that you'd use VGC to load up Serve at like DG, then transfer from serve to bank account (or use to pay the CC that was used to buy the VGC) and close serve account within a month or so before getting zapped. But in the event of a shutdown, I've seen some where the bank account may be blacklisted from future Serves (if you forgot to delink quick enough), but what if you have another CC by AM3X? Would they shutdown your CC accounts? |
OVVGC at Walmart
DP, I was able to liquidate 2x$500 OVVGC to BB at WM this morning. Not sure if YMMV or if it will work for MO or not. It didn't ask for a PIN either which is similar to some DPs for MCGC going through without the change payment trick or entering a pin.
Imgur link in r/churning, I'm unable to post URLs here still. |

So OVVGC worked at WM? |
I had posted on /r/churning and another poster had a similar experience: While unloading Meta MCGC, occasionally they were getting processed like credit, as in no pin required and the screen says 'Approved'. I unloaded 10 gebits from the same batch and I got this glitch in about 4/10 times. I checked the balance on each of them and they all have drained (so.. not the case of CSR hitting cash button). Not sure what triggered it but sure saves me some hassle to change payment and enter the pin.

counter DP: I was NOT able to load with a OV at Walmart via BB just now. Was loading 1500 total, first two swipes were metabanks and went through fine, last was the 500 OV and came up Tender Not Allowed (no option for PIN or anything...) this was an older OV (from CVS which had a 4.95 fee instead of 5.95) not sure if that matters. Location in MA.

I'm curious to know the type of card too. I typically get the 4.95s. I have a few CVSs that still have them. I would guess it's the newer cards.

Interesting thing happened at DG doing serve load today. Did a single OVVGC and for some reason the transaction failed after drawing the money off my GC. Register said $500 due to customer. Clerk wanted me to swipe VGC again, but I elected to swipe my real debit card instead. I checked before leaving the store that it was in my bank account. Knocked off a step;) Not worth the hassle to do intentionally though.
I should add, I'm tempted to replace my debit card now that it has been swiped at DG. Not sure why it didn't process correctly. GC was drained; it now shows a $0 balance. And the money was loaded to serve (shows on the transaction list and I got the email,) and then reversed. |
Just got back from WM for a second time. Using the 'newer' OV with the 5.95 fee and no raised typing on it, still got Tender Not Allowed on an attempted $500 BB load at MC. Ah well.

We try to avoid OV and MC, all together. |

If you read the Wiki, not many DPs for OVGC at WM. Mostly at FD & DG...
