Anyone login to their account and try to do a rapid reorder or a completely new order? I reach the checkout pages and nothing shows up no matter which method I use. All I get is a long, narrow blue box that states "Loading cart products" and a little info icon next to it. I click "Proceed to Checkout" and still nothing shows up...

Yeah, I've been getting that for a week or so now. Rapid Reorder appears to be dead...:(

I am having the same issue, i think that they are not allowing any cards more than 250 anymore so the Cart is having an error, too bad that loophole is gone:rolleyes:

Right. Rapid reload itself still works. My last order (a cashout $25 amazon card) works fine in rapid reload, all the others, with $500 cards fail to load the card products.

Never sure what this sort of thing means. If everyone had just done a single once-in-a-lifetime $500 purchase on giftcards.com, it might still be around. But no-one would care. Anything interesting has to cause money being transferred from someone to MSers, and eventually that someone/something might decide enough is enough.

Basically, we are all guilty! (Unless you are reading this forum with no intention of doing anything....)

There's a difference between ordering $500 and ordering 3x their max order limit at once.

They also hit you with the $7.45 shipping for any gift card value over $250 now. What a crock. I bought a $200 card to cash out my reward bucks and that's it for me. I don't blame anyone here for this. We all took advantage of this while it lasted. The people who order thousands and thousands at a time still mystify me, but maybe I just need to meet one of them to talk and see what they are doing. :-)

I don't understand that logic. I understand them validating orders and not fulfilling until the card went through. I also understand them not allowing you to place multiple orders on the same day based on fraud concerns. However, there really is no fraud difference between whether someone buys 5 x $500 or 10 x $250. It is the same $ amount. It is just that, to MS'ers, a $250 card is a total pain in the butt to liquidate because it involves more swipes. More importantly, we don't want to pay that many fees.

Which gets me to the second issue, profit. Even when they were charging $3.95/card + $7.45 shipping, they were making a hefty profit. MS'ers were very low cost to them because we were basically single transaction customers per card. We unloaded in a single transaction and were therefore low maintenance.

This business decision seems only makes sense if the company believes that a customer that was going to buy $2,500 worth, and pay approx $19.75 for 5 x $500 will still buy that same amount, but now pay $49.95 for 10 x $250. [And don't bother quibbling with me about GPoints or some other discounts because none of them get you back down to $19.75.] However, the fact of the matter is there is just no reason that same customer would continue to come back and pay that.

GiftCards.com has just given up its ENTIRE competitive advantage and placed itself among a SEA of other vendors selling $250 cards. MS'ers just will not buy those cards because we all know that you have to buy a card worth $500 or more to make the activation fee worth it.

well reasoned. once the business is soon slow enough, discounts at least like free s&h will return

They have an agreement with Bancorp. That's a proven fact. Bancorp probably pushed them to change the site. That's a speculation.

And for a while, they were almost certainly losing money. You could get $500 gift cards for about $10 off of face value, even after fees, due to their rewards program. If Giftcards.com was absorbing that cost, it's clear that they would change it. If Bancorp was absorbing that cost, it's clear they would force Giftcards.com to change it.

I am not sure about the math there. You have to spend $2500 to get $25 in GPoints. So, even if you spent $19.75 in fees (assuming $3.95 per) to get that $25 off, you don't get to use that until your NEXT order. You have to average out the fees across orders. Even if you applied the $25 in savings to the current order and spread the net $5.25 savings across the 5 cards, you are getting each card for $1.05 off face value...not $10. Plus, you know they are making a profit off that exorbitant shipping (which was not always free).

Okay, I was exaggerating on the math and hadn't actually done the numbers. I won't defend myself there. But the general point was that they couldn't possibly have been making a lot of money on this. And I know of a lot of people who only ever bought when there were free shipping codes, so that probably ate into whatever profits they would have otherwise had.

Free shipping (USPS $1.99 per card shipping) with code BLACKFRIDAY through 11/27. This may make buying VGC worth it to some. I believe the limit is $1000 in total per order for the code to work.

TMM1982 Nov 25, 2015 5:02 pm

GIFTCARDMALL is waiving the $5.95 purchase fees through 11/30.

Code: Thanks2015

Need to hit my min spend on Citi AA card and this seems like a no brainer.
