Back to Offering $500

As those who have noticed that Rapid Reorder now works, it is because GiftCards.com has engaged in another rapid change of operations and is back to offering $500 cards. Though, at $6.95 and no GPoints, still not worth it anymore (unless you need personalized cards).

That said, this is what I was waiting for. Liquidated my 2600 GPoints from October (plus one other purchase) combined with the CYBERMONDAY free shipping and got a nice little discount on a $500 card.

But do the 500s have pins?

Anyone have an issue with a payment not going from pending to posted, specifically on a Chase personal card?

I'm aware of the issue on Chase business cards where temporary authorizations will drop off and then reappear a day or so later as posted, but I've never seen that happen specifically with a giftcards.com purchase on a Chase personal card.

I also used to have issues with GCM, with payments not being "captured" (i.e., posted) after authorization and the gift cards thus not being able to activate the cards. I've never had that issue with giftcards.com.

Perhaps relatedly, I have another charge that has not posted from giftcards.com from another card -- it is still just a temporary authorization. **edit** This charge dropped off completely too.

Note that all the cards have shipped, so I would expect the charges to have gone through. I'm just trying to get a sense if someone else has seen this behavior. I'm wont to actually call up giftcards.com, as I much prefer letting everything be done as automated.

Giftcardmall.com FAQ still says that they come with PIN.

How unproffessional.....

Yes

I called giftcards.com about their rewards. They said it's no longer available on the visa gift cards, just branded store ones that state they are eligible for rewards. It seems like all online sales are no longer worth it anymore. Anyone have a hidden gem where fees/shipping are <$5?

Their emails still say GPoints on Every Purchase, so order one $500 card and when you don't get GPoints ,sue for misleading advertizing, financial loss and emotional damage.

If you win say $10M, that beats a lot of MS!

Sounds like a plan to me. I'll let you know how it goes

best advise to unload $250 cards without pin? Buy from giftcards.com and obtain one with pins?

This conversation is already getting muddled, but whatever. I've heard they work with Citi phone payments. I haven't tried it myself.

Guess no one likes giftcards.com anymore :-( Still easiest for me as opposed to dealing with hassles with cashiers at WM. Any new free shipping codes?

Try clearing cookies, etc. and visiting the site in private browsing mode. I did before my last order and up popped a banner with a 1.99 USPS discount shipping code.

However, I prefer the Certified Mail option versus regular mail. Last regular mail shipment came in and the envelopes were beat up bad enough that I was concerned about the cards being damaged or falling out! Certified mail order came in the sturdy flat envelope.

If you're ordering 4 cards or more, I believe the certified mail option is actually cheaper. As it is a flat rate per order versus a per card shipping fee.

Anything 4 cards or over definitely makes sense to use the USPS priority mail option for $7.45

If one finds a portal that gives a certain % back on VGC then it beats using a free shipping code (as the free shipping code negates the portal)

Please share any leads you have on portals that would give % back on VGC, It would be appreciated. Even if not currently active, I would be interested for the future.

I wrote a blog post about it (I'm not linking it because I think that would be breaking the rules) as well as a post on the sub Reddit that I made. The highest percentage I've successfully used is 1.2%, but there seems to be a new site (that I haven't heard of) that is offering 1.6%.
