I loaded about $1200 in metabank VGCs to BB yesterday at registers, so it could be your BB is shut down.

Anyone ever have any issues using Discover with gift cards dot com? Did one order fine and about to do another but wasn't sure if there was any need to worry about pissing Discover off?

But were they Metabank VGCs purchased from GiftCardLab?
told their VGS's from Metabank could not be loaded to Bluebird. I guess if nothing else you could buy them cheap (free shipping and $3.95/card with current $2.00 off Easter promo) to meet a minimum spend if you have no other options. I registered the card and will use it to pay down on a cruise balance but this is certainly not what I intended to use this and more cards for. |

Hi, completely new to this, just started doing research, any guidelines or reference links would be greatly appreciated. I would love to pay off my auto loan with a credit card, so I read up on some things. Seems like purchasing debit cards (with a reward credit card) and then loading them into Bluebird (BB) is the way to go. So I signed up for the BB, but just read their FAQ and it says I can't load from a debit card more than $200 a day, $1,000 a month total. And then my debit card has to be in my name. Is that even possible with a gift debit card?
But then I read you guys are able to load much more money than $200 a day. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. DJR |

But why buy gift cards and pay your loan? Just buy gift cards, load them on to BB and then pay the credit card company.
Also, anywhere I looked, VGC's charge activation fees. Is that normal and I should pay them, or am I looking in wrong places and need to do a better search? Thanks for the tips! DJR |

How did you ask the question? Did you say something like "Can I use these cards to load to BlueBird?"
Dow did you know that the cards came PIN enabled? Is Walmart the only location at which you've tried using them? and was told they could not...along with being told there were no cash advances. The card came with a sticker that stated the card was activated and an insert stated the Pin was the last four digits of the card. I left it that way. After failing at both Kate and twice at customer service I used the card at World Market with the Pin and was successful. I then went to a different WM and again failed to load to BB at customer service. I was able to make a purchase with the card at WM and their system did not ask for the PIN. It accepted it like a regular credit card. I tried to add $50 in cash back to see what would happen but that didn't go through. I have a GoBank card but suspect the problem originates with these MetaBank GC's from GiftCardLab. |
Frozen Funds?
I tried searching and couldn't find any concrete info, so perhaps somebody can help me. I bought 4 giftcards.com Visa and tried loading them at Wal Mart registers since Kate was out of order. I didn't realize at the time that these Bancorp cards would not work, so I tried loading $500 into Serve on each card. This was back in mid Feb. All cards got rejected at the register, yet, somehow, there was an increase of $500 on my Serve account. According to the giftcards.com website, my available balance still shows as $500 for each card, but I cannot make any purchases anywhere, with or without a PIN. The transactions show on the history, yet the available balance remains at $500 for each card. What do I do at this point - call the card issuer and explain what happened, or am I supposed to wait this thing out for the funds to be available again?

[/QUOTE] Maybe I am missing something, but Giftcards.com cards do not come activated. You have to either do it online or with their app. It has been a few months since I tried loading one at Walmart but I never had an issue loading Serve or BlueBird. |

You are correct about the pin. When you activate it assigns a random pin. You then can go in and change the pin if you want to. I always do.
