Ran into my first blockade w/ VGCs at CVS today. It's the same cashier who told me all GCs were cash only several months ago. Hadn't seen her since then, despite buying like 40-50 beans in the interim. I asked to speak to the manager and she said "I'm the manager." It said "Shift Supervisor" on her name badge, so I assume that means she makes $7.67/hr instead of $7.65/hr. Later I called the assistant manager and he backed her up, which was really quite silly because I bought $1500 in VGCs at the same store yesterday. Probably would have been smarter for me to just ignore it and buy when another cashier was on duty, but too late now.
I figured it was time to diversify my business anyway. Went to a WAG and got a VGC no problem, and then I went to a CVS right across the street from Wal-Mart and bought $1000 in VGC no problem. So it worked out fine for me in the end. I had been going out of my way to go to the particular CVS were I was blocked because they were the only store in town with beans. Now that the bean game is over, I can do my evil work at more convenient locations. :D |

Thing is....this is still true, you just have to want it bad enough to move out. I constantly hear of merchants here complaining of not finding anyone to hire because no one wants to do the jobs that are "beneath" them. Went to Vons. gave them the card, didn't ask :D |

Yes, everyone here, except the very newcomers, is bored. Because right now there is nothing new to report. One of these days there will be something very important posted here. Probably not this weekend though, so feel free to take the weekend off. :D |

Cashier was reluctant but cash register does not hard code cash only for paypal cash cards. bought 2K worth today.

Went back to the same CVS that shot me down yesterday for VGCs. The diseased ex-streetwalker clerk who swore that VCGs were on the banned list was gone, and I got my GCs w/o incident.
