Had my first "real life" VR user sighting last night. I was buying my daily 5k of vgc's, and two guys in front of me had a couple VR's in hand at CVS. My first guess was a few MS'ers on a trip to my lonely (thankfully) neck of the woods. Then I hear their conversation...about how their business is 60k in debt and they can use these to float for a few weeks by buying them with their credit card.
Of course, they get denied by the cashier and then proceed to cuss her out for a good two minutes. Ugh... |

I think I've found a new mother load. I was in Walmart in an area I don't usually go and found a small rack of cards. They had some Walmart cards and a few other ones that are of no value to MSers; but at the bottom of the rack were some VRs. I asked for one and paid the $500 for it on my American Express card. The cashier ask me what I was using them for and said "just for work". She said she has one guy who comes in almost everyday for months buying two at a time. He says he flys to Europe for free because of them.
I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach, is this something specific to this area? Never seem this in Atlanta but will be checking as soon as I get home. Let's keep this off the blogs, ok? Anybody else? |
Anyone who kept their stash of VR at home could take one up to the WM register and try to load it. If the system recognizes it and loads it, then it should be a go. I personally don't have any, but its worth a shot. It doesn't have to be a VR from walmart's rack.

Any further news? I've heard of such things but have yet to confirm at my local WM's.

Used VRs can be reloaded again? My local store has been out of VRs for weeks. I could just bring in an old used one I saved and have them load another $500 on it - then transfer to Serve/BB? Does that really work?

/facepalm. You can't load VRs at WM....:td: Why would you even want to go to WM if you have VRs? You can load VRs at the comfort of your house.

Do WMs even sell VRs? I have yet to see them. Are they even confirmed to take CC on VRs? I know they are listed as a retailer on the VR website but from the times I have been to WM, I haven't yet to see them in the gift card rack aisle. Maybe its a specific location that I haven't seen. |

Source? Or just a crystal-ball prediction?
Frankly, I don't see it. OV is quite a bit more involved and time-consuming for MS purposes in most situations. |
