What a horrible day!
First place I went to, I asked if they still take CC for VR, and she said "Of course, why wouldn't we?". I feigned surprise and said "But I thought it's cash only starting today". The cashier had no idea what I was talking about, so I showed her a copy of the email. She immediately canceled my transaction. Bummer! I tried at another location, and didn't say anything. However, the cashier was prompted with "Is customer in front of you?" So she answered "No" because I was browsing the chewing gum section at the time, which was a little to the side. Strike out again! Finally, I went to my final location and tried to check out but was told "Cash only for VR!". I stormed out of that Walgreens and will never go back. And after all this, I'm still gumless. |

Please don't post stuff like this as a joke. Someone may be new and not understand and try this.

Cash Only is fine. I've found a cool work-around! My credit card allows me to do something called "Cash Advance" so I can do that, get the cash and then pay for VRs (and now it sounds like there will be plenty to choose from). So I really still use my credit card and get the VR! I'm surprised that others haven't thought of this.

Waterbury CT
Very dependable store in the past is now cash only. Tried to pad my CC bill with a VR purchase but cash register refused said CC. Cashier was surprized.

It's always been a full 24 hours for me. If I am there a minute early, the transaction will not go through.
Just bought more in md. The cashier said I'll try it but it is going to cash soon. He followed up with: lots of Asian people buy these for some reason" She said "Asian business guys with MD licenses always come up here and buy massive amounts of gift cards". lol |

idiot. Walgreens isn't even the store on this thread and they don't allow vr with a cc anyway so i'm not sure why you tried there.

They don't really want to talk to you, and make it as hard as possible. Call the CS #, and put in the number of a VR card that has no value left on it. The computer will then transfer your over to a CSR. ;)
