Thanks.

I didn't mean to make you feel bad trying to help, but I'm a little timid "testing the defences" at CVS because it might kill the proverbial golden goose at a local store. I feel it's best going in with full confidence of what will work and the contingencies in case there's a hiccup. You've provided some great info, and it's definitely helpful. I agree that loading without VRs is preferable since it further closes the loop.

I don't know if the "old trick" has kept my account open, but I've lost 20lbs and some wrinkles since using it.

Are any of you using Intuit (or some other DD service)? Feel free to PM me.

I have 2 VR cards of 500 each. Do you think that I can load both today itself? I just loaded one, ( my first time ) but not sure whether I need wait until tomorrow for the second one or I can load right way. Thanks.

You can go ahead and load the second one!

Thanks. Loaded.. Great.. Now what? I can get a MO for 1000 from Walmart, right?

I only use VR to BB @ 5K a month.

For example: A 5K single day VR purchase with Citi, takes days to clear, but after the balance post, you can MVD (three MVD cards max) debit pay the 5K and VR / BB / Citi pay the VR 5K balance (10 VR cards @ $500. each) and in five or so days MS 10K.

Yes. MO/CA with Chase.

But I do not see any reason why we would ever load MVD with VR no matter what card you're using when CC works.

But what do I know?

This is beyond the BB limit of 5K. I bought more VRs using CC ( 5x point card) at CVS and loaded to MVD and now want to unload the money from MVD.

commdiver Mar 24, 2014 7:57 pm

Is there a fee to purchase a MO with this card? 50¢ for pin transactions?

zznoname Mar 24, 2014 7:57 pm

Thanks.

loading MVD at CVs register

But can someone verify: 1)if you load 500.00 to MVD using the BC or WF or Citi Div (thru 3.31) card, Do you still get the 5X points? If not it's useless and I would continue buying VR. 2) is the 3.95 still charged? Someone said yes so this is true? Then the only diff is what one poster stated: no finding non existent VR cards and security of having physical cards! But if you get the points, it's a no-brainer.

You can get a money order at Walmart or at the Post office, and you should be able to get a cash advance at a bank. But I recommend you read through this thread because there are a lot of pitfalls associated with using the card like that to get miles/points.

Keep in mind that MVD treats getting USPS as a cashback purchase, even if you get no cash back, so you will be charged a $1.95 transaction fee. At my local supermarket, MOs are $0.59, and as long as you don't get cash back it's only a $0.50 transaction fee.
