1) Not everyone lives near Walmart or has BB. Bank branches are everywhere

2) That method uses up BB's $5k per month cash load limit

3) BB has a $1k cash load daily limit, so it's $0.50 per $1k, comparable to $1.95 per $2.5k (although you used to be able to CA $9k+)

4) CA lets you off the hook for the fee, if you are shut down or don't plan to reload

If you get put on spend down, can you not debit to BB?

BB will shut you down for using prepaid cards as online debit loads.

BB doesn't allow prepaids for online debit load. I've never seen a shutdown for trying though. When I tried, I had to just had to call in. They said I couldn't use a prepaid and then all was well.

I'm on my first card, registered online with the permanent card which came in the mail, and have been trying to load a VR since then, but I keep getting Error 27. Anyone know if this is because I just activated it a couple of hours ago? I checked this thread, and there was a link to a response codes page, but looks like that is no longer hosted anymore.

Any help?

I think the VR site was having some issues last night, so try again this morning.

Make sure your account is active by signing into your account as well.

MVD is reloaded via VR's. Buy VR's from CVS and liquidate as you would another debit card.

Except Op said he was GOING to get the Citi card, not that he has it, and the CVS VR method appears to be rapidly coming to an end....

Wish that were the case in my neck of the woods

For the third time, can someone comment on why you would want to hassle with even getting permanent cards, versus setting a PIN on the store-bought cards, NOT registering them, and then Cash-Advancing them at a bank?

Seems quicker & easier. $500 load. 2 minute call to set the PIN. 3 minutes to cash out $498.

Is there a flaw to this logic, given availability of MVD purchase via CC?
