That sounds like a plan. Call in on April 6th and see if the funds have been added. If they have, your account is still in spend down mode, so just go get MO's. I wouldn't do a CA anymore unless you know why the teller voided the transaction??

Thanks for your reply healthnut. The reason the TCF teller voided the transaction because the terminal printer broke (she and all the other employees currently working there (9:30 AM Sunday) could not figure out how to fix it. I just hope my voided funds can be returned on my spend down MVD (hope the MVD card is not closed). That is what I am really worried about.

So you can for sure liquidate when on spend down mode via multiple payments? I've always wondered this.

yes, and frankly i can't believe it let me liquidate that much money over 2 days without any sort of fraud alert being tripped. As i said in another post, that account sat for a few months with $4k in it and then i quickly (too quickly, apparently!) built it up and it was shut down without any spend.

Q: What are the transaction limits??? i ask because before, anyway, it was $800 per swipe. however when i was doing a $1600 billpay at WM, i was doing 800x2 and paying the fee in cash. the cashier screwed up and did the last one for $801- and it went thru!?! so i can say with 100% certainty it isn't a hard $800.

further, i could not find it in the T&C just now, so maybe it changed. i also noted that the current T&C say max CASH POS is $3k/day, but that's all it says. if there is a transaction or daily limit for swipe spend (not cash) in the current T&C, i don't see it. Hmmm....

Wow that's a bummer. Even if it's closed, they have records of all transactions regardless and as people have said on here, the FDIC scares them.

They just need the pending to drop off the CA transaction, which obviously if voided correctly, should occur on time.

It's a waiting game... :) I had to do this with some Amex GC's and nearly waited two weeks! Hang in there!

Card #3 was shut down after 3k in loads.

I have 3k on the card. If I want a CA, am I able to withdraw the total 3k or just 2,998.05 (1.95 CA FEE)

Thanks for any help!

Read the FAQ/wiki carefully...
"The daily Cash Advance or "Over the Counter" limit at a bank is reported as $2,500.00/day. "
They charge 1.95 for every cash advance transaction. So if you only have 2500 loaded, you can withdraw 2498.05. The other 500 you can withdraw 498.05. Or whichever combination you like... But I think you have to do at least 2 transactions to drain up your card.

Alright, thanks! Is this a new policy? I remember CAing for north of 4k.

I tried a POS transaction for $3k and was declined, but $2.5k worked.

for those of us who can not purchase VR, what's the point of this card? Just use the VGC for MO and eliminate the middle man. Unless you need to go easy on MO. But you would be CAdvancing for 1.95 compared to .70

Well... 5k/month is not enough for some people at some certain moment...
I used MVD for my citicard spending in Feb. I just don't want to see I owe the bank couple of grands on my statement after MS, while beans lying around but just cannot be redeemed.. Well I don't think I need MVD now, at least for a while... no where around my location can I buy beans...

This is a card that can be directly loaded at CVS, so there is no need to buy VRs if you don't have any to purchase.

They still charge you $3.95, but it's processed like Serve at the counter.

Not using credit card any more. Same as VR now- cash only

Awe, unfortunate....

Dumb question:

Back when I first started MS with VR's I bought an MVD accidentally. But upon realizing my mistake I just went to Walmart and unloaded the balance minus $0.50 onto my BB. Is this not possible anymore? Why is everyone resorting to CA's?

It is the most cost efficient way to unload the MVD for large amounts of money. If you only had $500 then the $0.50 PIN debit transaction made more sense. With $2500 a CA is only $1.95.
