I doubt if they will do that though. Probably just shut you down forever. I see no incentive for them to reverse the withdrawal and keep your $1000 for 90 days...

The incentive to torture a heretic is to deter others of heresy when they hear the bloodcurdling screams. The cardinals could allow the transfer to pass then close the account, but then that would not accomplish their purpose. They don't want your money, just your aggrevation.:p

I don't think Amazon will "torture" you just to torture you...

I actually worked for Amazon last summer as an intern. The most important "leadership principles" in the company is called "Customer Obsession". I personally had two times that I wanted to return an item bought on Amazon.com. One time they shipped a new one to me by next day air for free without asking me to return old one. The other time they shipped a new one to me as well, but only asked me to return the old one in 30 days (for free).

I know AP can be another story, but I doubt a company like this will torture customers intentionally though. Let's hope I'm right :D.

This is slightly OT, but I agree completely. When I was living in Italy and dropped my Kindle on concrete, smashing the screen into pieces, Amazon shipped me a replacement model with one-day shipment for free! :D

Yeah, they can't be as bad as PayPal. That's for sure.

Sorry if this has been answered but is the US Bank Carlson Card working for AP as a purchase earning points (I know you can use it but will it code as CA)? Thanks

Yes, it can be another story. There are two Amazons. The one will bend over backwards to satisfy the customer, the other will dismiss and sometimes mistreat the seller just because they can, and you won't have any recourse at all. Don't ask me how I know but I do...:D Amazon does not believe in a second chance.

Yes, most companies including eBay/Paypal/Amazon mistreat the sellers, but not if you're a buyer.

I'm kinda new to AP, but is it a good way to liquidate Visa Gift cards?

AlohaDaveKennedy Jan 16, 2013 6:47 am

Kevin - yea of little faith! The recovery of your funds will be on the slow boat from China and require effort on your part to collect. Amazon has every incentive to speedily collect revenue, and please current customers, but no incentive to speedily return the money of any heretic whose account has been closed for heresy.

The torture of course will consist of witholding your funds for long periods as well as being poked with comfy cushions and the dish rack. Oh, the horror!

Sorry I've not been paying too close of attention this month (travelling and such), so is a second personal AP account no longer a "workaround" to the $1000 limit for disposing of gift cards? Like my wife and I each had 2 AP accounts, and I thought I could funnel $2000/month through them. I've already done $1000 this month through my "original" accounts. Should I not try to do the same in my "secondary" accounts?

And, if this is true, is the only workaround to use different s.s. numbers -- like aging parents, friends who don't care, etc.?

John 20:29 (New Brian Bible) - Bezos, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed.

Amazon Payments is still blessed by my presence even with many closed accounts. In my case, chances are legion. But this too shall pass after I request the money from my closed account. Until then I think of that money as a returnable security deposit.:p

But seriously folks, many of you are not as well capitalized and cannot afford to lock up your money. The risk is quite real.
