Will that make a difference? I mean I always choose "for goods and services" upon making payments to/from my accounts. I imagine it won't be any different for a real merchant, no?

Just checked my wife's statement , a $997 payment listed as "goods and services" but no points listed. Is Amex gold no longer giving points for Amazon pay?

Interesting. Have a test now running on AMEX SPG and will report back when the statement cycles.

I hope that isn't the case on the Delta amex. I really don't care about the skypeso's but I want the charges to count towards my spend for the MQM's.

Amex has always given me Hilton points in the past on my Hilton Am Ex. Not sure why they would card since they are getting the transaction fee.

My Amex spg closed on July 2, 1000 points posted from amazon payments like normal

AlohaDaveKennedy Jul 5, 2013 8:05 am

Oh, they do care. It is all about their perception of risk.

True. But as far as giving points out, shouldn't matter:) Am Ex gave me a very low credit limit on my newest card and I sent in a large prepayment so I could be assured some large purchases would go through to meet the minimum spend, so right now there is NO RISK at all seeing I have a credit balance:)

AP used to earn 3x MR. I assume AMEX fixed that?

That's scary.. If this is true, I would be more concerned about whether the spend on Amazon payment will count towards the minimum spend requirement for the challenge bonus..

I used Citi AA for Amazon payments this month.. Will post if I got the miles, and more importantly, did they count towards the minimum spend requirement for the challenge bonus..

Prepayments and multiple account payments are often limited by credit card issuers. The risk they see with prepayments and multiple account payments is not credit risk but laundry risk.

Ugh, AP put a second $1 hold on my Amex GC so it was denied. Smart move on their part to figure out who is using GCs, bad for me, since my payment was denied.

Use the search function for the work around.

I did the work around, it doesn't work for me, but maybe I'm just fixing it too quickly.

This was also a secondary hold after the initial hold fell off.

so are we sure that 3X MR points for AP is over? I do see 3X points for my May payments and waiting for June points to post, but the pending points looks suspiciously low.
