Thanks. But spending only $1000/month in gift cards on my Ink card feels like a huge missed opportunity. I know some folks trudge into CVS with their OD-bought gift cards and try to buy Vanilla Reloads for Bluebird, but I honestly don't think that would fly in my hometown. Any other way I could safely turn OD gift cards back into cash?

Hey Houston2Phoenix...check your PM

I was curious if this mattered :p Don't really want to deal with Cardinal Fang myself although I don't mind a few extra points here and there. I am probably way too cautious, but staying under the radar has always been my thing :)

thegasguru, can you pm me too and fill me in on other ways of cashing gift cards?

also, I was wondering, if possible, how do people use amazon gift cards on amazon payments, without buying anything on amazon, just sending from 1 person to another...?

As far as I know that is not possible.

I would appreciate a PM too. I'm in over my head with a spend right now. I tried to get family members to get AP to help me out and both are stuck with the dreaded "An error occurred when we tried to process your request." message.

i'm problem is there are no VRs in my area for cc purchase =(

AlohaDaveKennedy Jan 31, 2013 7:55 am

What kind of spend? If Chase, there are better options.

Yeah, chase for most of it.

No VR options that I can find in my area.

My OD that just 2 weeks ago did not blink at $2500 in GC now has checkout lock up and require "manager" override to clear a $500 GC purchase. Rather uncomfortable 3 minutes at the counter waiting for him to come to front. Hope they don't go OM and reduce GC to $200 max.

lavag Jan 31, 2013 10:29 am

I too have had OD's requiring managers for 500 GC. It's been going on for over a week for me, in various locations.

Suspect it is systemwide. Had the same thing happen the other day in Orange County. In addition, most of the $500 cards had been removed from the display.

It's tasting very Minty in OD these days. Sorta like Walgreens.

killercut Jan 31, 2013 7:08 pm

Yea, I need to do $4000 more in spending on my chase. I need AP for citi though...
