But there is a SSN and drivers license challenge and something more (maybe a credit inquiry). The "something more" is what snags the young adults and possibly non-citizens. Dunno who they are using for the robo look up there.

I was just answering the question that was posed. Citizenship in itself has nothing to do with the ability to use AP.

I am non-citizen and 22. Been using it fine so far, for 2 months only though.

Figures an English bank would have a line directly to Cardinal Fang.:D We done got us a real Barclay's Norwegian Blue Card now. What does Barclay's expect us to do - actually buy things with the card? Oh, please! Where is the complaint department? I wish to register a complaint about this card...

They changed the definition of cash equivalent: "Cash Equivalent means the use of your Card or account number to obtain money orders, traveler's checks, foreign currency, lottery tickets, gambling chips, wire transfers, person to person money transfers (including but not limited to transfers facilitated over the internet) or use of your account to open a deposit account or to transfer value to a stored value card at a location or through a merchant other than a financial institution and any other transaction that MasterCard, Visa, and/or American Express (as applicable to your Account) may designate as a cash equivalent.

Now, I don't read the T&C often, but I saw "change in the definition of cash equivalent" and thought that was interesting... I've used it for Amazon payments in the past and will probably give it another shot next month.

Do a search for Barclays in this thread. Someone mentioned that language in the T&Cs months ago, and all subsequent reports are that AP still counts.

Did you have any credit history? SSN? Drivers license? Did AP email you with a request to verify data? All data points are useful to figure how AP is mining the jungle.

I have a couple years of credit history (1 CC since 2010, 8 more since May 2012, never late payment), SSN, and leaner's permit, which has my potential Driver's license # on it. I had all these when I signed up for AP.

This.

The non-citizen husband of the poster do not have, therefore he could not have an AP account.

While Citizenship is NOT a requirement to have an AP account, but SSN is, plus the DL too.

EVERY point-earning card has something like this in their T&Cs and always have. I wouldn't lose much sleep over it.

Something more in the mix, however, something to do with credit history? Some of the accounts I control work, then die young.

Is Barclay's working for opening bank accounts then, too? Any data points?

well, techically it may not be a person to person transfer. amazon payments can be a method for you to pay your bill for something. so if you consider the receiving party a sole propietorship or something then its a p2b transaction...

so when I send money to my wife. I just note that its payment for sex over the last week or so, j/k....
