55 minute connection on LH at FRA
I am coming from Manchester, UK (non Schengen) to Houston with 55 minute connection at Frankfurt on Lufthansa. Is this doable. If I miss the flight there is another one on United (LH codeshare) to IAH, will they put me on that one ?
Both flights are in Terminal 1, MAN arrives in Conc. B and LH to Houston leaves from A (380 aircraft).

FYI. They made it through. There were two other people on the same next flight. LH had a bus waiting for the five of them and took them to the passport checkpoint. However, she was pulled for extra screening so that took a while and she thought she would miss the flight, but she got there on time. Not sure if they held the flight for them or if it was delayed for other reasons. Even with the delayed departure, they landed early.
thanks again for the help.

For IAD-FRA there are 4 flights, two UA metal and two LH metal. I have taken UA 989 twice and it gets a remote stand (V gate). I also looked at some days and the LH flights get Z gates whereas UA gets remote stands or once a C gate. I connect to flights from A gates and I would like to avoid security check and a long walk. I guess the solution is to fly LH but then I don't get Pre-Check in the US.......
From the remote stand you get dumped via bus in B. So I guess that you are then "contaminated" so there is no chance to avoid security if you get a remote stand? Why can't they bring the bus so that you are in a "clean" area for US/UK arrivals?
What's the best way to connect to A from a longhaul remote stand? There is a passport control right there on the lower level and then you head toward the arrivals terminal but make a U-turn to security (which security is this? transit only?). Here they are "worse than TSA-psychotic". And then you get the long walk in the tunnel.
Is it faster if I head up the escalator and enter the B non-Schengen area? Can you enter the B non-Schengen without security?

Sometimes remote arrivals are brought to arrivals A which are immediately below transfer security for A/Z and cut out the need to move from B to Z via the Skyline train or going landside. You cannot enter B non-Schengen without clearing security even if you arrive at a B gate.

As long as you are on one ticket they should put you on a later flight to IAH should you miss the connection.

We are connecting thru FRA next week, VCE-FRA on LH in J, connecting to FRA-ORD flying in J on HL 432 (the 747-400 unfortunately, but there it is, we get to depart Venice at a much more humane time vs. catching the much earlier 747-8).
We have 1:15 for the connection. I'm thinking this will mean we need to be snappy but not running?
Any suggestions, such as using a business lounge, or avoiding the tunnel? I'm assuming we have to go thru passport check from Schengen to non-S departures. Do they do the additional screening at the gate like DL does at AMS?
I only found a few day's arrival info and it looks like LH 327 may arrive at 1A Bus, or an A gate. The ORD flight will most likely fly out of the Z gates, I think, but I've seen both Z50 and Z69. Which is at the far end?
If the Venice flight is late, are we stuck till the following morning? We got a screaming deal on a P fare on UA stock, will that matter as far as how we're handled in case of a missed connection?
I travel a fair amount but FRA seems a bit daunting. Any tips would be great. Thanks!

There may be (random?) security screening for US departures. As long as you are on one ticket who issued it or how much you paid shouldn't make any difference in case of misconnection (sometimes status might), though it might affect the standard of overnight accommodation LH provides.

Are you on LH1305/LH008 or LH1299/LH024? One hour in FRA may be a little tight since you will have to clear passport control and security, but provided you are travelling on one ticket they will put you on the next available flight to HAM if you miss the connection and there are almost hourly flights between FRA and HAM.

I wish I know the answer but UK arrivals in FRA hardly ever get to a 'clean' area unlike US arrivals in Z.
Sometimes remote arrivals are brought to arrivals A which are immediately below transfer security for A/Z and cut out the need to move from B to Z via the Skyline train or going landside. You cannot enter B non-Schengen without clearing security even if you arrive at a B gate.

So what is the best route if you are dumped at B and need to get to an A Schengen gate (usually the Senator lounge in A for me)?

The bus actually passes the A gates, which is infuriating. But A is Schengen so a flight from the US that gets a remote stand has to dump people in B arrivals.

Even if you are dropped at A non-Schengen arrivals you cannot avoid transfer security but if your destination is FRA (or if you are walking to the FCT ) passport control inside A non-Schengen arrivals always seems to be very quiet with hardly any queues. It's also only a few minutes' walk to the FCT.

90 mins transit, do we have enough time to enjoy FRA lounge?
We'll be flying from EWR to VIE (final destination is TIA) via FRA. EWR to FRA is on UA968/LH7602 in F, FRA to VIE is on LH1236 in J. Transit time in FRA in only 90 mins, do we have enough time for FCL or even FCT? Thank you.

Since UA968/LH7602 is operated by United you won't have access to the FCL/FCT unfortunately. You could try the Senator Lounge in A concourse with your arriving F BP (or if you are *G) but your departing BP in Business may only give you access to the Business Lounge. Depending on your departure gate you may want to use the Business Lounge above gate A26 which is a former First Class Lounge and is more spacious and quieter than other Senator/Business lounges.
