I've been through FRA a few times, and I certainly haven't mastered it! I have a 70 minute non-S to non-S connection, with my ORD - FRA LH flight arriving at gate Z50, and my FRA - BKK Thai Flight departing from gate B46. What is the best way to get from Z50 to B46 anyone? It's on Saturday afternoon if that makes any difference. Many thanks!

Should you miss the connection there are two later flights to BKK (LH and TG) and they will put you on one of them.

I have a question for this forum. I will be arriving at FRA from YYZ at 11am. My wife will be arriving at FRA from MUC at 1pm on the same day. I am scheduled to leave from FRA to MUC at 6pm to catch the Thai flt to BKK later that evening. My wife is scheduled to take the Thai flt from FRA to BKK also later that evening. We are both Star Alliance Gold. My question is - while in FRA, will we be in the same area of the terminal and thus able to use the same Senators lounge? Or will we be in different sections of the departure lounge as I am continuing on to MUC and she is going to BKK. Since we have a fairly long layover (5 hours at least for me) in FRA, I was wondering if we could meet and spend time at the same Senators lounge.

If arriving at B (assuming AC 876) you won't be able to stay in B with a MUC connection, so head over to A50 via tunnel (enter Schengen) to meet her until she leaves.

Thank you sp4294 and Newbierunner for your guidance. Just to clarify - can my wife access the Senators lounge at A50, as her connecting Thai flight will leave from B.
Another quick question on the same topic - she is arriving on LH First from YUL to MUC, then LH C from MUC to FRA and then travelling on Thai First from FRA to BKK. Given this, can she use the FC Lounge in FRA while waiting for her Thai First flight?

To access the First Class Terminal and the First Class Lounges travelling companions must present a valid boarding pass for the same flight as the passenger who invited them. Life partners, spouses and children under 18 years must present a valid boarding pass for a flight departing on the same day as the passenger who invited them.

Your wife will arrive at an A gate and she can access any SEN lounge. If she is flying MUC-FRA on the same day that she arrives in MUC, she has access to any FCL (but not the FCT) in FRA as well. In fact she may be able to guest you into the FCL A as according to the lounge access rules:
Since you are leaving before her there shouldn't be any problem. After you leave for MUC, your wife can move to the FCL B which is more convenient for her TG flight.

Thanks a lot Newbierunner! Much appreciated. A big relief too. I can meet her at FCL A and after I leave for MUC, she can move to FCL B. Perfect.
Thanks again!

Hello, all. Apologies if this has already been answered 100 times, but 174 pages and 2600 replies is too much to go digging for the answer.
I have two connection scenarios that I'd like advice on. I've never been to FRA, and my mother has never flown outside of North America, but we've got an itinerary where she will fly ORD-FRA on UA, and I fly YVR-FRA on LH. We meet up at FRA, and will connect to the same LH flight (I think 760 or 761, I forget the number and don't have my itinerary handy) to DEL. She is scheduled to arrive a couple hours before me, and was planning to meet me at my arrival gate. Is this possible (I.e. Will arrival gate info be available and/or are we likely to arrive in parts of the terminal where arriving passengers can meet other arriving passengers)? Our plan B is to simply meet at the DEL departure gate, which I guess works well enough.
However, today I learned of a possibility that my employer may want me to meet with a vendor in Germany, since I'll be passing through anyway. If that happens, I'll go a day or two earlier. In that case, is it possible for me to meet her at her arrival gate when she arrives, or is that somehow not possible given that I'll essentially be a FRA-origin passenger trying to meet an international transit passenger?
What's the best advice for the two potential itineraries?

In my opinion departure gate is always best. There can be no misunderstandings and even if someone is running late it's where you need to go anyway.
You will probably have no trouble getting to her arrival gate but you might. And it's easy to miss someone at arrival. Having her call on arrival does make it a lot easier though :-).

UA flights usually arrive at Z gates and it is unlikely you and your mother can meet at the arrival gate unless you also arrive at a Z gate or your flight departs from a Z gate. Checking LH.com's arrival and departure information, it looks like DEL flights leave from a B gate. So the best/only option will be to meet in B concourse. If you don't have lounge access there is a bar/restaurant in the central area of Pier B.

I'll be flying MAA FRA MUC CLT. I know I have to go through passport control in Frankfurt as well as security, but do they have an elite security line? My connection time is only 1.5 hours. Not short enough for the quick lane, but not too long either.

Extra security in FRA for US departures:
Tightening of security checks for flights to the USA (update)
As previously reported, due to a tightening of security checks for flights to the USA, there may be additional checks of electronic devices (mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) for flights to the USA. In Germany, these measures only affect direct flights from Frankfurt to the USA. A total of 18 airports in Europe, Africa and the Middle East are affected.
Lufthansa provides 147 flights from Frankfurt to 16 destinations in the USA every week, and in total there are 215 weekly flights to 17 destinations. We do not currently expect there to be any impact on flight operations or for any delays to transpire as a result. Check-in procedures and security checks are currently running as normal.
We generally recommend that all passengers travelling to the USA arrive at the airport on time (two hours before departure) and allocate enough time for the security checks. This recommendation continues to be valid. We also recommend that our passengers present any larger electronic devices charged fully charged and without any packaging or cases at the security check. Should an empty battery prevent a functional check from taking place, chargers for current models are available at the checkpoints in Frankfurt.
The Federal Police is responsible for carrying out security checks in Germany. We are unable to comment on the procedures or on any changes to the procedures occurring as a result of guidelines issued by the American authorities. Please refer to the Federal Police or the German Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) in this regard.
Lufthansa Group Security is in constant contact with public safety authorities and will provide information about any further developments.

Gate closures due to apron work:
Next phase of construction at FRA airport
The first stage of the extensive renovation and construction work to be done on the apron at FRA airport will be completed mid-July. This means that two important wide-body positions at Terminal A (A25 and 23), as well as one on the western B pier (B26), can be used again. The next phase of construction will begin at the same time, meaning that between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on both Sunday, 13 July, and Monday, 14 July, the entire A/B forecourt (apron between Terminal A and B) will be closed. Furthermore, for an expected period of five weeks, four wide-body positions will be completely closed off in this area for the duration of this period, and there will only be limited usage of a further four positions.
In parallel to the work on the A/B forecourt, the taxiway in front of Terminal B will also be refurbished. This means that for four weeks, almost half of all configurations at Terminal B, including the positioning area, will be completely closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. every night. This may lead to bottlenecks during the peripheral periods (night-flight ban and early arrivals).
Furthermore, parts of the runway heads will also be refurbished, but this will not result in any substantial restrictions, however.
In total, the first phase of construction work could be finished on time, if not earlier in some cases, and without any major incidents. This additional phase of construction is planned until mid August, while the entire operation will run until the end of November.
