The official route from Z to B will be to go to Z16, take the Skyline shuttle to the next stop (B/C) and walk to B transfer security. After security bear left, walk passed McD and keep going. Don't go down the escalator. You will see the MLL entrance on your right. B56 is a bus gate in the dungeon.

Yes, *G can take one guest into a lounge.
Thanks! Sorry about the flight number confusion. I hope OU419 is NOT a bus LOL
FRA says departure is Term1 AB counter 260-338-- what eve that means... boarding pass has B56.

'Term1 AB counter 260-338' means check-in counters for your OU flight if you are checking in or dropping bags in FRA.

Hello all we are flying business class (P) from YYZ to CPT via Frankfurt with an 11hr layover. Plan is to go into the city for lunch if weather is nice, then back to airport for flight to CPT on the 380 flight 572.

Question is which lounge is the best to use with the best features that is close to where the 380 departs from. Can I use the Senator Lounge? Thanks very much.

We did not have our TG boarding passes at the time, but we're not asked for them at the security screening point.
It would be fantastic if this happen! It'll be our first time FRA and it would be great to have someone escort us.

Why the recommendation for MLL. Is it just proximity to this particular gate in B. I found the new Senator lounge in B to be very nice. I remember going there a few years ago before the new A/Z lounges opened.

The MLL is much quieter especially after the last AC flight has departed. Great showers, cubicles with reclining chairs, headphones and own screens. The choice of food was not terribly impressive when I was there but it was at the tail end of the day. Since it's a Business Lounge I think Business Class passengers without *G can access this lounge.

Alright - here is a complex one for the sages here on our travel in a couple weeks all on a Tuesday. What is the optimal lounge and least hassled transfer route for us during our 3 hours in FRA? Also, where can we best "check-in" for this flight?

2 friends and I are on 3 separate US Airways issued First class award tickets operated on Asiana connecting in FRA to a separate United Airlines issued economy ticket on Lufthansa. I am a US Chairman, United 1k, and have SAS Gold status. One of my other companions has SAS Gold status and the other companion has no status. We will all have only hand luggage.

We fly Asiana HKG - ICN in business class, have a 7 hour layover in Seoul and then fly ICN - FRA in first class. Once we arrive in FRA at 5PM we have 3 hours to wait for our Economy connecting flight to BIO at 8PM on Lufthansa. I believe we will do a C -> A transfer if I am not mistaken. I understand we will have no access to the F class lounges, just Senator, Business, and/or Maple Leaf Lounge. We leave HKG at 26 hours prior to our FRA - BIO flight so too early to check-in. Can we get checked-in for FRA - BIO at a Lufthansa desk/counter in ICN? What happens if we aren't checked in and don't have a boarding pass once we get to FRA? Also:
- Which lounge will be closer to our gate for departing BIO flight?
- Which of our options is most comfortable these days?
- We will potentially want to take a shower, which of these has shower facilities?

Any other thoughts or considerations for this transfer that are noteworthy?

Best regards to you,

Beofotch

I think your OZ flight will arrive at a B gate rather than C (shorter distance to walk). You will have to clear passport control and security on arrival.

The flight to BIO departed from B13 yesterday, A68 today and is scheduled to depart from A17 tomorrow. B13 and A68 are bus gates. So you can't really tell where the departure gate will be but wherever the gate the best lounge is the Senator Lounge on the way to gate A50. It has about 10 showers and there shouldn't be any queue in late afternoon. The Senator Lounge by A50 is one of the newest lounges in FRA and convenient for A gates (though some are quite a long walk away). If your flight departs from a B gate you will have to walk through the tunnel back to B but this time to a Schengen gate. Allow 8-10 minutes to the gate. A *G has access to the Senator Lounge and can invite one guest.

You should be able to find LH booking reference on your United booking. I believe it can be found under something like 'additional confirmation number'. Using the LH confirmation number and your last name you should be able to locate your reservation on lufthansa.com. You should then be able to check-in online 23 hours before departure. Alternatively as you suggest you can go to a Lufthansa counter in ICN. If it all fails there is a transfer desk before passport control in concourse B.

Thank you for the insight!

We have the LH record locator numbers, I guess we should just do it in the ICN lounge or at the LH desk at ICN worst case.

SQ-SK

Hi all, I will soon be booking a flight for my mum from JFK - FRA - CPH.

She will be flying SQ on the JFK-FRA segment, arriving in FRA at 10:45, and then connect to SK for the FRA-CPH leg, departing at 12:30. These tickets have been booked separately.

Would 105 minutes be enough time for her to get through to the Schengen area? I will ask her to make sure she checks in her suitcase all the way to CPH, but I am unsure if SQ has the ability to give her a boarding pass for the intra-Europe flight in JFK - can anyone advice if this is possible?

You are asking in the wrong forum. But the answer is yes, it's plenty of time although there will be the walk through the tunnel and security assuming a B gate arrival. SQ should be able to issue a BP, but it does not really matter if she has a BP. You don't need one to transfer. I usually get them in the LH lounge. Otherwise at a transfer desk or at the actual gate.

Note that LH handles SK flights from FRA -- also in terms of online check-in. My experience is that you cannot do anything online when you connect from UA both in M and C class. When SK's system controls the check-in then you can at least go in and select seats when the check-in window opens, but this is only relevant for M (economy) where seat selection opens up at the check-in window.

Hi,

I'll be flying SIN-FRA-LCY via LH (LH779 followed by LH926) on a weekday.

LH779 is scheduled to land on 0540hrs, probably at the Z gates, thus giving me about 2 hours of layover on Frankfurt.

I am thinking of heading out to the airport supermarket at the public area to grab some German chocolates before boarding my flight to London, which should depart from one of the bus gates at B.

Would this plan be feasible? I am concerned that the queues for immigration and security might be very busy in the mornings and I might miss my connecting flight...

Of course, I am assuming that LH779 would land on time - otherwise I would be having breakfast at one of the Senator lounges...

If you arrive at a Z gate (in fact the arrival level above the Z departure gates) the quickest way to go to the public area is to go straight (or bear slightly to the left) following the Exit sign at the end of the long concourse rather than to follow most other passengers who will turn right towards transfrer security and the exit. Passport control at the bottom of the escalators is usually very quiet. Since you will be at the far end of T1 you will have to walk the whole length of the terminal to the supermarket but at least you should not find a long queue at passport control and may even reach the supermarket when it opens at 6am.

Hi,

Thanks for the tip. I am budgeting about 45 mins to reclear immigration and security to enter the airside after shopping. Are the lines usually long for the morning flights in Frankfurt? My experience is that the immigration and security staff are usually rather efficient barring any strikes or disturbances....

Smile Getting to VIE from FRA

A last minute decision to go to Germany and Austria with miles (last minute in the mileage awards scheme of things that is) has me booking business class with USAirways because they will let me take two seats if I yolo my awards points. Which I guess I am willing to do.

What they wont let me do is a connection to a city they don't service on US with this high miles award. So I am not allowed to take any partner One World airline as part of the awards ticket. Because we are trying to meet up with Friends in VIE that means US dumps me in FRA and now I am on my own getting a connection to Vienna.

So the question is which airline has the easiest access to VIE from whatever terminal US from CLT arrives at?

Also, what should I expect in terms of Immigration, customs, etc after the CLT_FRA segment? Should I have a issues if I check a bag which then must be rechecked on the FRA-VIE segment?

Thank you in advance for your collective wisdom and I wish I could have found this I my thread search.... I did try!
