If you have the whole itinerary on one ticket the airlines will protect you and put you on a later flight should you miss a connection. With separate tickets you are on your own.

Just to be sure: they don't have to check my hand luggage at EDDF?

Should be good.
Your MUC-FRA will arrive at an A gate, FRA-DUB should leave from B (B4x).
From your A gate you should take the tunnel (near Gate A17) to B. There, you just go through border control (no security check) and done. In a best case scenario, you get there in 10-15mins depending on border queue and your walking speed.

Thanks, I just changed my ticket at the suggestion of this forum (thanks guys) and now have 1.15 in MUC and 1.20 in FRA which is a much better distribution of connection times since i will be arriving ar the same time in DUB

Would I have better chances while travelling with big luggage and say in LOWW that I'll continue flight at EDDF?
So then chcnces that they will wait for me at EDDF are bigger, correct?

No security check in FRA if arriving from VIE. (Sorry I don't speak in ICAO codes, so please excuse the more commonly understood IATA codes. )
I don't think it makes any difference whether you have a checked bag or not.
I'm still not clear if you have one ticket or not, though it sounds like you don't. Nor do I understand why you don't fly a more direct route between VIE and GDN.

If your incoming flight from, say, LHR, parks in front of an A gate near the centre of the A hub (e.g. A17), where would you expect the bus to take you? What part of the A terminal would it park at to let you in?

I would like to clarify the 'bag issue' cause I don't now now if I should take handy luggage or big one ;-) ...
The reason was price basically..
Anyway I need to handle this somehow that's why I'm asking for advice ;-)

I have posted the positions of A and B bus arrivals previously. (Marked in yellow and orange on the map.) Non-Schengen T1A bus gate is opposite Schengen bus gates A6-10, with passport control on your right as you enter the terminal, and escalators for security and connecting flights on your left. It's close to A1 exit at the far end of the terminal (convenient if you are walking to the FCT ).
Non-Schengen arrivals at Schengen A gates are very annoying especially since you often have to deplane through the rear door. All they need to do (if gate A25 or lower) is to connect a jetbridge and let passengers deplane on Z level but this does not seem to be possible except for some late evening arrivals.

Interesting. I was travelling with someone in a wheelchair and the bus took us to a special room which seemed to be miles away, through the concourse we came in to and down the A50+ concourse. I'm not sure how far and haven't been able to find it on any maps. Massively out of the way, given that we had a connection out of B20.

T1A bus arrival gate is miles away from B gates if you follow the official route. It's likely you were taken to a special room somewhere near T1A bus gate. From T1A bus gate the route to non-Schengen B gates will be up to Skyline train to B/C stop, walk to transfer security B and to the gate. I don't know of any shortcut.

ICN to VIE via FRA
hi people,
i need help about connection in FRA airport...i have very old Korean lady travelling from ICN via FRA to VIE with Lufthansa. Intercontinental flight is LH713 and flight within Schengen is LH1246.
She doesn't speak any languages but Korean and is very afraid to get lost on big airport. I plan to wait for her right after passport control and travel with her on second flight.
Here is the question, where could I wait for her on the airport and minimize her fear? I assume that would just right on the entrance to Schengen zone in connecting flights area but where exactly would that be?
Please help and thank you a lot.
Gomawoyo (thanks)

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this board and just looking for a little insight concerning my flights next week.
I'm flying to Frankfurt from Dusseldorf (LH075) on September 9th and should arrive at 9:15 in FRA. I'll have a connection flight to Seattle at 10:15 (LH490). They are both Lufthansa flights and booked on one ticket if that matters.
Will the one hour connection time be enough? Any idea at which gate I'll arrive and/or depart?
Thanks a bunch!

I would consider to spend 75€ for a Lufthansa Arrival guide:
http://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/Lufth...Family-Service
http://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/Lufth...Family-Service
ICN flights usually arrive at a Z gate but yesterday it arrived at C16. There should be someone who speaks Korean at the arrival gate but they can only point your friend in the direction where she should go. It will not be easy/possible to wait for her just after passport control if that's what you are planning to do. If the flight arrives at a Z gate she will have to clear security, go downstairs and through passport control to A concourse. If the flight arrives at a C (or B) gate the route will involve a long walk and a ride on the Skyline train or a walk through a tunnel. If you are at all concerned you should consider the guide service.
