just had a schedule change JTR-MUC-LHR. now supposedly a 5 min connection. UA award ticket - looks like they have re-ticketed, but presumably this would force error so better to get on the front foot?

You need to contact UA it’s an impossible connection

Booking for in-laws. Will ZRH-MUC LX Arr 13:10 , then MUC-YVR LH Dep 15:35 leave enough time for connection? Tickets will be seperate. I'm presuming they'll have to go collect bags and back through check-in, passport control and security. Flying J on the outbound.
TIA.

LX will check the bags through.

Seperate tickets you take full responsibility if something goes wrong.

I would never do separate tickets without a LONG connection

If your luggage will be checked-through the connection is no problem at all. Otherwise it would be very risky and I would'n do it.
Book an earlier ZRH-MUC flight and enjoy some time in the lounge...

Chris above notes it will be via LX. I don't know where that is spelled out, but if it's the case, perfect.

The tour they are on doesn't allow for departures prior to 10:00, otherwise I'd put them on an earlier one (07:15), the earliest available after 10:00 is this one.

It'd be nice if I could book this on one ticket, but booking through Krisflyer for the MUC-YVR award segment, can't book the ZRH-MUC portion with them.

Your original post, ZRH-MUC LX arr 13.10

LX will through check to LH on seperate tickets.

ZRH - MUC has good ontime record, it’s a VERY short flight but I would ensure I had insurance that covers missed connections 😊

But it's not a connection, it's two separate tickets. Would insurance cover it?

Yes, if you have the right insurance policy, my AVIVA UK issued one does 👍

Quick question: looking @ upcoming flights [MEM-->IAH-->MUC-->VCE]; there's a 13hr layover in Munich, with the flight arriving around 7:30am I believe [booking thru UA, so could be partner flight].

I have a PP [Select] membership via my Chase Sapphire Reserve, and was wondering if we'd [me+wife+2 teen children] would be allowed into the lounge w/ showers? We're planning on spending the day in Munich before flying on to Rome, and a shower sounds like a good start.

Schengen PP lounge doesn't have showers, unfortunately.

There are public showers at MUC, but relatively expensive at 15€ p.p.

Just thought of the fact that you might be able to get into the non-Schengen PP lounge after arrival, and that should have showers. Not sure if included or paid extra. Either case, paying for 3 guests would probably still end up more expensive than paying for 3 showers outside.

My PP app shows there are two PP lounges at MUC but both airside and in Terminal 1, not 2, where LH operates out of.

Yes, though I'm assuming the transfer busses don't check for BPs?

What transfer busses? To get from T2 to T1, you leave the secure area and walk outside through the Munich Airport Center. You would need a T1 boarding pass in order to access the T1 gates.
