I’m normally never flustered in MUC but recently I had a relatively tight connection from WAW to BHX, which wasn’t helped by a delayed pushback and a bus transfer instead of an air bridge. What made me flustered is that when I got to the EasyPass gates my passport refused to scan. I tried half a dozen different machines before joining the lines, where I had to make some excuses about my flight boarding in 10 minutes while edging my way towards the front.
My connection from BHX back to WAW tomorrow is via FRA and just 60 minutes and I’m hoping my passport will scan this time. It’s a valid ePass (with the symbol) and I don’t know why it refused to scan but I’ve had this problem a couple of times before in other airports.

Chip might got fried.. usually there's a fallback on the readable (swipe through) portion. Wasn't there a "guard" helping you with the problems? If the passport is eligible for this "shortcut" per se, there's no need to just go back in the (likely long) line of "other" passports.

That's weird. I usually have to try up to 2 or 3 machines before I get a successful scan of my passport at MUC and FRA, but it has never happened to me that all machines refused to recognize my passport. If you need the functionality often, it may be worth getting a new passport.

Given that I paid a kings ransom to get it renewed a couple of years ago I’d rather not go through that rigmarole all over again. It usually works and I’ve used it in places like TLV, IST, SIN and HKG in the last year without any issues. It’s only the European airports where I’ve ever had problems.

The best staffed bar is probably in the non-Schengen lounge in the satellite. Food will be the same at all lounges of the same type.

All Munich LH lounges have staffed bars, but in the K11 the selection may be a tad better. They also have a bar menu there and you can order stuff like a Whiskey Sour.

Also, I had a bit of a senior moment above. Not all MUC SENs have staffed bars. E.g., the bar in G28 SEN is self-serve.
Also, while the poster above is right that they all carry the same food, their rotation isn't necessarily in sync. So, in one lounge you might see the potato salad on the menu, while at the same time one of the other lounges has the obazda instead.

Thanks! Just to confirm, the awesome L11 lounge that you guys are talking about is the business lounge correct? Because i'm traveling J, so I can't enter Senator lounge.
