this will be no problem at all. Your SQ flight will depart most likely from gate H32. So after arrival look for the signs to the H gates, go rhrough passport control and that‘s it.

IAD-MUC-WAW questions

LH business class IAD-MUC-WAW round trip -

Do I have it right that in both directions I will only go through passport control in MUC?

I have 1 hr 50 min connection on the way to WAW, and 1 hr 30 min on the return so from what I have read this should be no problem.

Will the arriving and departing flights in MUC likely be in different terminals and will I need to go through security? Will there be easy access to a lounge in both directions?

You will go through passport control in MUC on the outbound and the inbound, as you will leave and enter again the Schengen area between your flights.

MUC is very easy for connections (as pointed out in the other thread).

You will not have to clear security in MUC, except for a document check that applies to all US bound flights. The one exception is if you are selected for secondary screening, a semi-random event that a few passengers per flight have to undergo. This requires extra time and will be obvious when you cannot print your boarding pass despite being able to OLCI.

Your flight to IAD is likely to depart from T2S (satellite), inbound from WAW could be T2 or T2S. A train connects the two buildings. From IAD, arrival could be either building, to WAW the same. Schengen flights are one floor below non-Schengen flights.

Both buildings have have a Business lounges. I would recommend you go to the non-Schengen lounge in T2S before your flight to IAD. Similarly, go to the Schengen lounge in the building your flight to WAW on the return will depart from. Follow the signs!

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to remain airside when transferring through Munich airport if arriving from SIN and continuing to TLV, when traveling on separate tickets?
Similarly, is an airside transfer possible when arriving from TLV and continuing to SIN, with separate tickets?

I am wondering if it's possible to enter the airside departures area after arriving when one has separate tickets for the arrival and departure flights (without going through immigration clearance that is, and instead remaining airside). And also wondering about whether any required document verification can be done airside. In case it matters, I am interested mainly in the case that the departing flight is with Lufthansa (for the direction SIN -> MUC -> TLV) and in the case that the departing flight is with Singapore Airlines (for the direction TLV -> MUC -> SIN).

Thank you very much.

SIN => MUC => TLV on separate tickets: you can not stay airside, no chance
TLV => MUC => SIN on separate tickets: you can stay airside if you can check-in online - do you travel with carry-on baggage only? I‘m not sure if they will check you baggage through until SIN on separate tickets.

As your LH flight from TLV will arrive at level H and you will depart from level H you won‘t have to go through security or immigration.

Thank you for the reply Genesis321. I should have mentioned, I am travelling with carry-on only (for both directions).
So AFAIU from what you wrote, for TLV -> MUC -> SIN I could stay airside in that case? Also, given that I am with carry-on only, won't I be able to also just stay airside foe the SIN -> MUC -> TLV case? Wouldn't I disembark into the non-Schengen area and could then just walk to my gate for the flight to TLV (given that I don't need to pick up any luggage)?

You can do an airside transfer in MUC without issues, checkin in SIN and TLV needs to be convinced though.

Hi,

Thank you for the answer.
Would you happen to know what the procedure would be? when I arrive there would I be let in to the airside departures area without a boarding pass? or otherwise be let in with an online check in boarding pass? also, will any necessary document verification be done at the gate (given that I have not passed through the landside check-in counter)

You arrive in MUC (usually SIN deplanes into I) and follow the signs to the H concourse. The security there usually doesn't care to check if you are allowed to go there. The moment you get into the concourse H look for a LH transfer desk, they can check you in for TLV if you dodn't do an online checkin already.

Since the OP will have to clear security in MUC anyways, I would at least contemplate (given there's enough time between the flights) to leave the sterile area and wander out to the MAC or somewhere else to catch some daylight and fresh air. SIN-MUC is a long flight and I'd rather try to stretch out rather than staying inside the terminal.

Q: Wouldn't you need to leave the secure area anyways to get to T1/F in case the TLV flight departs from there?

LH 680 and LH 688 to TLV usually leave from gate H46 nowadays. No more T1F separation for transit pax. Local still reports at T1F
